About BRAC Enterprises Tanzania Limited (BETL)
BRAC is one of the largest providers of non-formal education in the world. We have been running schools in Bangladesh for 30+ years and internationally since 2002. BRAC currently operates a global pre-primary school program in Bangladesh, Tanzania, and Uganda, and we are developing markets for early childhood development (ECD) for 3-5-year-olds in the same countries through our ‘Play Labs’ project. In Tanzania, this includes the operation of 30 play labs co-located with the Tanzanian Government and funded through the Yidan Prize.
BRAC Enterprises Tanzania Limited (BETL) is a registered private company in Tanzania. Working as a social enterprise, BETL is currently piloting a cross-subsidy business model for ECD to improve the development of 3-5-year-old children in Tanzania. Through this project, BRAC aims to catalyze the ECD private sector in Tanzania by developing a sustainable business model for the provision of low-cost, high-quality, and scalable play-based ECD program. The BETL team recently opened five schools and is in the process of launching one mobile ECD program in Dar es Salaam

Job Location: Dar es Salaam.
Job Summary:
BRAC Enterprises Tanzania Ltd. (BETL) is excited to offer an internship opportunity for a motivated and tech-curious individual to join our team and contribute to enhancing our operations through the use of digital tools and smarter systems. Currently, we are collaborating with affiliate daycare centres across Tanzania and piloting a mobile application developed in partnership with Tiny Totos. Since May 2024, we have been testing the app, and while progress has been made, users have encountered challenges both with the technology itself and its application in daily operations. We are seeking an intern to help address these challenges and drive improvements in the system.

Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
Support App Users and Build Capacity
- Assist affiliate daycare staff in understanding and using the Tiny Totos app.
- Collect feedback from users and develop basic training guides or resources to support them.
- Help BETL communicate app-related issues and operational feedback to Tiny Totos.
- Track technical challenges and suggest practical improvements for usability.
- Assist in researching alternative tools or platforms that could enhance BETL’s operational systems.
- Support the development of simple tech tools (e.g. spreadsheets, templates) to improve internal workflows.
- Work with the BETL team to document and improve internal systems and affiliate support tools.
- Liaise with other BRAC staff as needed for cross-team collaboration.
- Ensure daycare centre locations are accurately updated on Google Maps
- Explore GIS-based solutions to support data-driven decisions for optimal expansion site selection
Required Skills / Capacity
- A recent graduate in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field with a strong focus on tech-enabled operations.
- Strong interest in technology, operations, and social impact.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proficiency in both English and
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Basic knowledge of digital tools or apps (experience with user support is a plus).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word,
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Eager to learn, proactive, and adaptable in a startup-like environment.
