Who We Are
The East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project is a Midstream development located across Uganda and Tanzania. It includes a nearshore Marine Storage and Export Terminal (MST). Once completed, the EACOP Company will operate a 1,443 km long, electrically heated crude oil export pipeline that transports oil from Kabaale – Hoima in Uganda to the Chongoleani Peninsula near Tanga Port in Tanzania for crude export to international markets.

Job Dimensions / General Job Description
The Training Coordinator will be responsible for the fulfillment of all training and competency requirements for Field Operations staff (+/- 150 employees).
Key duties include:
  • Developing training matrices based on job functions and responsibilities.
  • Identifying training programs within budget and establishing the best means to accomplish them—whether internally or externally.
  • Organizing training sessions with providers, ensuring both instructors and staff participate.
  • Evaluating training effectiveness and auditing training provider and content.
  • Participating in the evaluation of competency levels for Field Operations personnel.
  • Proposing relevant training to fill competency gaps for current roles and future development.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Participate in the development of the Operator Training Simulator (OTS) for EACOP.
  • Ensure all training and competence assurance processes are followed throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Participate in the Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test of the OTS.
  • Support management in developing competency matrices, job descriptions, and conducting job evaluations.
  • Identify training programs that can be accomplished annually within budget.
  • Regularly train EACOP operators on site facilities control using the Operator Training Simulator.
  • Issue yearly training plans and budgets.
  • Evaluate the performance of the training plan on an ongoing and annual basis.
  • Develop the training strategy and program procedures, and tools.
  • Analyze and identify all training needs.
  • Participate in developing the training curriculum for all operational disciplines.
  • Interface between training providers and EACOP management to ensure training quality and effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain a training matrix based on job functions and specific duties.
  • Maintain a reliable and effective competence management system, including accurate record-keeping across all company systems.
  • Propose relevant training to fill competency gaps for current roles and for development into planned next roles.

Qualifications / Experience Required
Academic Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
Experience Required:
  • Minimum of 10 years in the Oil & Gas or related industry.
  • At least 5 years in a Training and Development or HR Coordination position.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
