PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The role is aimed at providing mechanical fitters supervision for all crusher equipment under the leadership of Senior Supervisor Crushers (Mechanical). The role for crushers is therefore focuses on ensuring consistent and accurate execution of all mechanical activities related to fitting. Inspect and monitor crusher equipment condition, identify defects, and take appropriate and timely action in coordination with Senior Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ordinary level of secondary education with VETA/IMTT Grade/NVA Level Three in Mechanical Fitter or FTC/Diploma/Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering.
EXPERIENCE:
• 5 years working experience in mining/manufacturing industries specifically performing maintenance tasks on various fixed plant mechanical equipment dealing with gold processing like crushers, apron feeders, screens, conveyor systems.
• Leading a team of mechanical maintenance for a period not less than 2 years.
MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Capture any mechanical defects within crushing plant equipment and use work management strategy to eliminate defects arises.
• Lead fitter mechanical crew to carrying out the planned maintenance tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
• Lead fitter mechanical crew to troubleshooting faults and repairing equipment as needed.
• Prepare safe work procedures/Safe operating procedures/Job safety analysis to all mechanical related tasks accordingly.
• Abide with company policy and values in managing crusher fitter mechanical crew.
• Supervise and ensure all fitter mechanical tasks are executed safely.
• Report any unsafe equipment immediately.
• Perform critical control verification before any task commence.
• Organise and establish call out team to attend mechanical breakdown.
• Register all portable and hand tools used in mechanical tasks and control tool issuing during crusher shutdown and normal routine tasks.
• Plan and submit annual leave roaster for every fitter mechanical member.
• Identify and organise resources (i.e. SWP, permits, spares, labour, materials, tools and lifting equipment) deficiency and follow company policy and procedures to acquire all the needs before task commencement.
• Perform pre-works i.e. materials mobilization and after work i.e. materials demobilization and housekeeping on every fitter mechanical task.
• Perform personal task observations to all crusher fitter members periodically.
• Identify skills gaps, recommend and organise required Hot working activities at lay down area (cutting steel drums by using cutting touch).
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Be physically and metal fit and hardworking, capable to handle conflict and resolution among team members.
• Possession of Basic Trade Skills with leadership skills.
• Able to read, understand and utilize all Plant technical manuals.
• Specialized training on various pieces of equipment as required.
• Computer Literate – Proficiency in Micro Office products / Basic Computer Skills.
• Willing to attend standby and call – out duties.
• Driving Competency with Tanzania Driving License Class B and D.
• Demonstrate a good commitment to deliver.
• No security issues or Criminal records.
