Bagamoyo Sugar Ltd was incorporated on 01 December 2016 as a sugarcane production and processing subsidiary of the Bakhresa Group, following the acceptance of the land offered by the Government. Bagamoyo Sugar Ltd aims to alleviate the shortfall in domestic sugar supply by developing a sugar cane plantation and set up a green-field integrated sugar processing plant for sugar production.

The Bagamoyo Greenfield Sugar Project has already been launched and sits less than 80km from Tanzania’s commercial capital, Dar-Es-Salaam. Near the historical town of Bagamoyo in the coastal region, the construction work for the brand new sugar factory is already in progress. The company brought a number of innovative solutions which is being deployed in incremental phases whilst setting up the multi-million dollar sugar production facility.

Irrigation Supervisor (9 Vacancies)

Job Type: Full-time

Workplace: Bagamoyo

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assign and monitor daily activities to the irrigation technical team.
• Assist the Assistant Irrigation Engineer in preparing irrigation and fertigation programs.
• Monitor automated controller screen for irrigation operations.
• Set daily, weekly, and monthly targets and ensure targets are met.
• Oversee the maintenance program as per the schedule.
• Prepare daily and weekly reports and submit them.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Diploma in Irrigation and Water Resource Engineering or any related field.
• Ability to read and interpret design drawings and proficiency in MS programs.
• Knowledge of soil, vegetation, and climate.
• At least 3 years of proven experience in the sugar industry.

Assistant Irrigation Engineer (2 Vacancies)
Job Type: Full-time
Workplace: Bagamoyo
Duties/Responsibilities:

• Prepare irrigation programs using available software for irrigation and fertigation, according to water requirements.
• Manage and supervise all irrigation activities in a designated zone.
• Coordinate with managers and service providers on programs and ensure implementation.
• Prepare monthly and annual budgets for effective irrigation operation.
• Oversee installation and maintenance of irrigation systems.

Qualifications and Skills:

• BSc in Irrigation and Water Resource Engineering, BSc in Agricultural Engineering, or BEng in Civil and Irrigation Engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret design drawings, proficiency in AutoCAD and MS programs.
• At least two years of experience in irrigation system installation.
• Proven experience of at least 2 years in the sugar industry.
