Country Background
CRS in Tanzania works in very close collaboration with the catholic Churches and implements programs through both Churches and secular local partners. CRS has been helping poor, vulnerable families improve their lives through orphans and vulnerable children, agriculture, health, microfinance and WASH programming in Tanzania since 1962.

Job Summary:
As a member of the Multisectoral Malaria Project in Tanzania, you will be managing all multisectoral malaria field research activities, as well as implementing and monitoring them in support of Catholic Relief Services (CRS) work serving the poor and vulnerable. Your thorough and service-oriented approach will ensure that the project consistently applies best practices and constantly works towards improving the impact of its benefits to those we serve.

Roles and Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the coordination and implementation of all assigned project activities as outlined in the detailed implementation plan in line with CRS program quality principles and standards, donor requirements, and good practices.
  • Monitor and report any challenges and/or gaps identified to inform adjustments to plans and implementation schedules.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating partner reflection and learning sessions on project experiences.
  • Support accountability through coordinating project evaluation activities and assisting partners in their efforts to collect and analyze project data per specified mechanisms and tools.
  • Collaborate with local partner(s) to prepare reports per the established reporting schedule. Compile project reports as per CRS standards and donor requirements.
  • Collect information on capacity needs and technical assistance needs of partner organizations and monitor capacity building and technical support activities to ensure effective impact.
  • Complete project documentation for assigned activities.
  • Assist with identifying information for case studies and reports on promising practices.
  • Coordinate closely with other stakeholders by participating in regular calls with the Global Technical team supporting the Multisectoral Malaria Project. Participate in physical and virtual calls with diverse stakeholders within the Multisectoral Malaria Programming and as needed by CRS.
  • Work closely with community health workers, Integrated Community Case Management providers, and health facility staff in implementing multisectoral malaria field activities.
  • Oversee and provide data quality measures in anthropometric measurements and malaria service provision during field activities.
  • Assisting partners in their efforts to collect and analyze project data per specified mechanisms and tools.
  • Complete research documentation for assigned activities.
Read Also:
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in nutrition, nursing, biostatistics, or health-related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience in project support. Experience in the field of health or nutrition, community-based research studies, or experience in digital data collection tools would be a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Web Conferencing Applications, information, and knowledge-sharing networks.
  • Additional experience in community development may substitute for some education.

Required Languages – English and Swahili.

Travel – This position is based in Kigoma; must be willing and able to travel up to 50% within Tanzania for project activities.

  • Good relationship management skills and the ability to work closely with local partners and community members.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness in executing assigned responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of CRS Partnership strategy and Partner management experience is an advantage. Excellent report writing skills.
  • Exceptional knowledge and experience in budget management and project management.
  • Ability in Microsoft Office Publisher, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook

  • Internal – Multisectoral Malaria Project Team, Human Resource, and Supply Chain Management, Kigoma Head of Office, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning officers,
  • External – Local Government Authorities (LGAs), Local Implementing Partners e.g. Local Universities and Civil Society Organizations.
