The Barrick Africa Middle East Team is seeking to recruit a Service Truck Operator to join and grow our team.

Responsibilities
- Ensure safe work practices by attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident reporting and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health, and Environmental Policies, as well as other policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Operate Service Truck safely whilst travelling waste within the Surface and Underground.
- Perform pre-start checks, refuel and wash equipment.
- Work with technical and supervisory staff in quality and safety initiatives.
- Complete all tasks at the required rate and to the required standard.
- Compliance to all applicable mine safe work procedures / safe operating procedures.
- Participation in all applicable safety, prestart and shift team meetings.
- Plan all trips properly and ensure all the necessary equipment is on board for each service trip.
- Report any fault to responsible maintenance team and/or a Leader for all tools and /or equipment under area of working. Do not operate substandard equipment at any time.
- Ensure the overall condition of the vehicle is excellent in accordance with company standards.
- Maintain a log of all service trips, events, and fuel consumption.
- Performed routine equipment checks, to include limited operator maintenance, checking and replenishing fluids to proper levels and lubricating the equipment.
- Avoid any fuel spillages to the environment.
- Report any spillages to the environment to the Supervisor.
- Ensure that absorbent material is always available on the service truck.
- Wash and clean the Service Truck after every shift.
- Comply with all safety procedures of Barrick North Mara.
- Comply with instructions received from the Supervisor.
Qualification requirements
- Secondary School Education Certificate.
- VETA Driving Certificate.
- Possess a Valid Tanzanian driving licenseclass B, C, D and E
- Able to Drive Manual Transmission/Stick Shift Transmission.
- Sound knowledge of Mining Safety Regulations and best practice.

Experience and competencies needed.
- Experience in Operating Service Trucks in Mining.
- Ability to consistently manage such a diversified portfolio in a high-pressure environment.
- Highly professional conduct always and the ability to deal with a diverse client base.
- Must be motivated individual with ability to operate with minimum supervision.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong technical and strategic planning related experience and background.
- Strong values in safety commitment, policy and enforcement related experience and background.

About the Team
The North Mara gold mine is located in north-west Tanzania in the Tarime district of the Mara region. It is around 100 kilometres east of Lake Victoria and 20 kilometres south of the Kenyan border.
North Mara started commercial production in 2002. The mine is a combined open pit and underground operation from two deposits, Gokona (underground) and Nyabirama (open pit). The process plant has the capacity to process an average of 8,000 tonnes of ore per day.
