Job Description: Project Accountant

Position Title: Project Accountant
Location: Kasulu, Tanzania
Reports To: Finance Manager
Project: Youth Entrepreneurship for the Future of Food and Agriculture (YEFFA)
Contract Type: Full-time (12 Months with a possibility of extension)
Position Overview:
The Project Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of the YEFFA project. This role involves ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining financial records, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with donor and organizational financial policies. The Project Accountant will work closely with the Finance Manager, the Project Coordinator, and other team members to ensure the financial integrity and efficiency of project operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the project’s financial resources in compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
- Prepare and monitor project budgets, ensuring expenditures are within approved limits and aligned with project goals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for all project transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the project, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient funds for project activities.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and audit schedules as required.
- Prepare financial reports for donors, ensuring they meet donor specifications and deadlines.
- Liaise with donors regarding financial matters and respond to any queries or requests for information.
- Oversee the financial aspects of procurement processes, ensuring compliance with procurement policies.
- Manage contracts and agreements with vendors, ensuring timely payments and adherence to terms.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor is degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project accounting or financial management, preferably in the non-profit sector.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Experience with donor-funded projects and familiarity with donor financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Familiar in using financial management tool such as QuickBooks, TALLY, among others.
- Knowledge in procurement and tax rules
- Knowledge in Financial Management policies and Accounting procedures, budget management and financial analysis.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Swahili

Position Title: Agriculture Inclusiveness Skills Advisor

Project: Youth Entrepreneurship for the Future of Food and Agriculture (YEFFA)
Contract Type: Full-time (12 Months with a possibility of extension)
Position Overview:
The Agriculture Inclusiveness Skills Advisor will be responsible for implementing and managing agricultural activities under the YEFFA project, which aims to empower youth with disabilities and refugee youth by providing them with the necessary skills, resources, and support to engage in sustainable agricultural practices. The Officer will work closely with local communities, agro-dealers, AMCOS, anchor firms, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of project activities and the achievement of project goals
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs on climate-smart agricultural practices, post-harvest handling, and value chain development tailored to the needs of youth with disabilities and refugee youth.
- Organize and conduct training sessions, workshops, and field demonstrations to promote sustainable farming techniques in horticulture, sunflower, maize, and rice production.
- Establish partnerships with anchor firms, AMCOS, and agro-dealers to facilitate market access and off-take agreements for project beneficiaries.
- Coordinate networking events and platforms to connect youth farmers with market opportunities and enhance their participation in structured markets.
- Support the establishment of community-based agricultural producer groups (hubs) to improve productivity and collective market access.
- Collaborate with agro-dealers to ensure consistent access to high-quality agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor is degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in agricultural project implementation, preferably working with marginalized communities.
- Strong knowledge of climate-smart agricultural practices, value chain development, and sustainable farming techniques.
- Experience in training and capacity building, with a focus on inclusive agricultural practices.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including youth, local communities, government agencies, and private sector partners.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Commitment to promoting the rights and inclusion of youth with disabilities and refugee youth in the agriculture sector.
- Fluency in English and Swahili
