THE UNITED AFRICAN UNIVERSITY OF TANZANIA (UAUT) is a private Higher Learning Institution founded by the Registered Trustees of Korea Church Mission (KCM) in 2012, with the objective of alleviating poverty and promoting growth through raising Tanzanian Christian leaders who are equipped with excellence in wisdom, knowledge, and Christian virtues. The responsibility of the day-to-day running of the university is vested upon the University Council with the Vice-Chancellor as the main link between the Board of Trustees and the University Council. The UAUT is an accredited university.

VACANT POSITIONS
Internal Auditor (1 Position)
Internal Auditor at UAUT July 2024
Qualifications:
- Holder of Bachelor Degree/Advanced Diploma in Accountancy, Commerce (Accounting), Accounting and Finance, or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Must have one of the following professional qualifications: CPA (T), ACCA, CIA, CISA, or ACA and be registered by NBAA as a Graduate Accountant with at least four(4)years of working experience in a related field from a recognized organization.
Duties:
- Prepare and advise on audit guidelines.
- Execute audits of all payments.
- Audit financial and inventory reports.
- Ensure financial and internal control systems are effective and consistent with institute financial rules and regulations.
- Audit revenue collection.
- Prepare budget and other audit reports.
- Ensure audit reports are prepared on time and submitted to relevant authorities.
- Prepare annual work plans.
- Ascertain the extent of compliance with prescribed plans, policies, procedures, and financial regulations.
- Advise on audit queries.
- Audit financial accounts.
- Review operations and procedures of the Institute’s expenditure.
- Review measures for safeguarding assets and audit inventories of stores.
- Analyze and correct audit reports.
- Authorize internal audit queries.
- Organize and supervise the staff auditing the expenditure of the Institute.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Accountant (1 Position)

Qualifications:
- Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance, CPA(T)/ ACCA or its equivalent with at least 2 years working experience in the Accounting field.

Duties:
- Perform various accounting tasks including receiving and paying out cash and cheques.
- Maintain full and accurate account records.
- Prepare trial balances.
- Check the correctness of claims and retirements ensuring they are supported by appropriate authority/evidence.
- Custodian of accountable documents.
- Prepare monthly trial balances and bank reconciliation statements.
- Maintain debtors and creditors.
- Prepare financial statements.
- Check the accuracy of payment vouchers.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the senior.
Senior Lecturer (1 Position)

Qualifications:
- Holder of a Ph.D. and a GPA of 3.5 (Upper Second Class) or above at the Bachelor’s degree level and 4.0 or above for the Master’s degree, majoring in Accounting, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
- At least 5 years of working experience in Higher Learning Institutions.
- Teaching language proficiency.
- CPA will be an added advantage (Accounting major).
Duties:
- Mentor junior staff in all relevant areas.
- Design and develop curricula.
- Manage institutional projects and activities.
- Write teaching manuals, compendia, and books.
- Develop new courses and programs.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by the relevant authority.
Lecturer (1 Position)

Qualifications:
- Holder of a Ph.D. and a GPA of 3.5 (Upper Second Class) or above at the Bachelor’s degree level and 4.0 or above for the Master’s degree, majoring in Accounting, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
- At least 3 years of working experience in Higher Learning Institutions.
- Teaching language proficiency.
- Graduates are also encouraged to apply.
- CPA will be an added advantage (Accounting major).
Duties:
- Conduct lectures, tutorials, seminars, and practicals for undergraduate programs.
- Carry out field supervision.
- Mentor junior staff in all relevant academic matters.
- Participate in curriculum development.
- Develop and manage various university projects.
- Undertake research and publish research results.
- Undertake consultancy.
- Prepare teaching manuals and compendia.
- Supervise undergraduate students’ projects.
- Attend/organize workshops, conferences, and seminars.
- Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by the management.
Assistant Lecturer (1 Position)

Qualifications:
- Holder of a GPA of 3.5 (Upper Second Class) or above at the Bachelor’s degree level and 4.0 or above for the Master’s degree, majoring in Accounting, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
- Teaching language proficiency.
- Graduates are highly encouraged to apply.
- Working experience in Higher Learning Institutions is an added advantage.
- CPA will be an added advantage (Accounting major).
Duties
- Undergo training to Ph.D. level.
- Undergo induction course in pedagogical skills for those who had none before. Conduct lectures, tutorials, seminars, and practicals for undergraduate programs. Assist senior staff in practical sessions, seminars, and tutorials.
- Prepare case studies.
- Work in cooperation with senior members on specific projects.
- Supervise special projects for undergraduate students.
- Mentor junior staff in all relevant academic matters.
- Participate in curriculum development.
- Participate in developing and managing various university projects.
- Undertake research and publish research results.
- Prepare teaching manuals and compendia.
- Attend/organize workshops, conferences, and seminars.
- Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by the management.
NB: Holders of foreign awards certificates must have the awards verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) before employment.
