The School of St Jude is a pioneering leader in charitable education within Africa. Every year we give 1,800 students with free, quality education, 100’s of graduates with access to higher education and provide more than 20,000 government school students with quality teachers. St Jude’s is funded by generous supporters from around the world who make our mission of giving bright, poor Tanzanian students a free, quality education possible.

What you’ll do
• Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, procedures, and programs that align with
organizational objectives and comply with legal requirements.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the HR team, fostering a culture of collaboration,
innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee performance management processes, including goal setting, performance evaluations,
and development planning, to foster a high-performance culture.
• Stay updated on Tanzania labour laws, regulations, and industry best practices
• Facilitates professional development opportunities for employees
• Oversees employee relations, including handling grievances and disciplinary processes
• Collaborates with senior leadership to develop workforce plans and talent management
strategies to address current and future organisational needs
• Ensures timely and successful completion of projects within budget and scope
• Prepares regular reports on HR metrics to provide insights into the workforce and HR
performance
• Lead and manage the recruitment, selection, and onboarding process to attract and hire
talented professionals.
• Design and implement training programs to enhance employee skills and competencies, and
identify and develop high-potential employees for future leadership roles.

What we’re looking for
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field; Master’s degree
preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in HR roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
• Strong knowledge of Tanzania employment laws and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and decision-making abilities.
