The Aga Khan Education Services, Tanzania (AKES, T) operates three schools, from nursery to secondary levels. Each school aims to provide a quality education that will impart a broad set of personal and intellectual skills which develop independent inquiry and critical thinking abilities. The origins of the Aga Khan schools in Tanzania go back to the 19th century when a girls’ school was started around 1905 in Zanzibar by Sir Sultan Mohamed Shah Aga Khan III.
The focus of AKES in Tanzania is to implement educational programs that are designed to assist students in acquiring life skills and intellectual foundations that will enable them to make their way confidently in a world increasingly characterised by globalisation and technological advancement. To meet the needs of diverse communities, AKES in Tanzania operates schools which run both National -NECTA and International curricula International Baccalaureate -IB and IGCSE International General Certificate of Secondary Education.

Position Summary
Officer, the Safety and Security Officer (SSO) will coordinate all safety and security services for Aga Khan Schools, in Dar es Salaam and deliver safety, security, and risk management services, and plans. The SSO will also act as an advisor to the Senior Management Team and school safety & security committees, on all matters related to safety and security for AKES, Tanzania schools.

Safety and Security Officer (SSO)

Position Summary
Officer, the Safety and Security Officer (SSO) will coordinate all safety and security services for Aga Khan Schools, in Dar es Salaam and deliver safety, security, and risk management services, and plans. The SSO will also act as an advisor to the Senior Management Team and school safety & security committees, on all matters related to safety and security for AKES, Tanzania schools.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively assess and manage safety and security risks at all schools
- Be a focal point in preparing and responding to security and safety incidents
- Assess the physical infrastructure for safety and security risks and propose mitigation measures
- Conduct audits of the schools and create and manage remedial action plans.
- Develop and implement the organization’s strategic safety and security plans.
- Establish close relationships with stakeholders and law enforcement authorities
- Develop and maintain a strong contextual understanding of all areas of operations.
- Train, manage and assess the performance of private security service at the school
- Investigate and resolve security breaches at the schools
Position Requirement Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in security studies or security risk management.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in safety and security management at a similar level.
- Certification by ASIS International as a Certified Protection Professional or equivalent
- Should be certified in facility security management and incident management
- Possess professional maturity, sensitivity to different cultures, and impeccable integrity that exemplify AKES/ AKS’s values
- Experience in school risk management environment.
Electrician
Electrician at Aga Khan Education Services March, 2024
Key Responsibilities
- Routinely inspecting electrical systems such as wiring, fixtures, and appliances.
- Identifying electrical faults or hazards and rectifying them
- Troubleshooting electrical system failures.
- Reviewing blueprints to understand wiring placement.
- Testing of electrical systems with the required tools
- Conducting maintenance repairs on old or faulty fixtures.
- Routine checks of the AC and repair where possible; report if a specialist is needed.
- Routine check of MV and LV panels, dBs, and generators, and report on issues.
- Responding to fault requests
- Providing suggestions for equipment replacement
Qualifications & Experience
- FTC/Diploma holder in Electrical, Electronics, and Instrumentation Engineering
- 5 years of experience as a technician and electrician.
- Knowledge of electrical and electronic designs, installations, and maintenance.
- Willingness to perform electro-mechanical maintenance and repairs
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving
- Great organizational and time management skills

Position Summary:
- To provide specialized support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they have equal access to the curriculum and opportunities for academic success Scope of Work:Conduct assessments to identify students’ learning needs
- Develop Individualized Education Plans (lEPs) in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders
- Provide targeted intervention and support to students both in and out of the classroom
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt and modify curriculum materials
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary
- Provide professional development to staff on best practices for inclusive education
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and develop lEPs for students.
- Provide direct support to students in accordance with needs.

Qualifications:
