Chief Finance Officer (CFO)
Chief Finance Officer (CFO) at Expert Consultancy March 2024
On behalf of our client we would like to invite qualified candidates to apply for the above role. Position Title: Chief Finance Officer (CFO)
Reporting to: Director
Supervises: Accounting and Finance Team
Salary: TZS 13,000,000.00
Duty station: Head Office, Arusha (Dar-es-Salaam in the interim)

Position Summary:
As a key member of the Executive Management, the Chief Financial Officer will report to the Executive Director and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management, deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships and partnership compliance and private and institutional financing.

CHIEF FINANCE OFFICER
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monitoring & controlling of entire accounting function as per accounting
  • Monitoring & overseeing secretarial & legal functions and FEM. Secretarial functions includes TRA compliance, Minutes of Board Meeting, Filling related to TRA. Legal function includes reviewing legal agreements, MOU, vendor contracts etc.
  • Manage bank accounts and bank relationships and compliance.
  • Represent the Company with Investment bankers and
  • Preparation of CMA (Credit Monitoring Analysis) data and projected financial Statements as and when
  • Dealing & Liaising with the Bank/Finance Institutions for the existing credit facilities, further credit facilities for the future expansions of the group. Evaluate financing options and select the most appropriate one for the company’s needs.
  • Prepare and present Budgets to the
  • Formulate and monitor and ensure compliance of the budget.
  • Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; and initiating corrective
  • Lead the budgeting and planning process including long term strategic plans and annual operating
  • Preparing & monitoring Cash
  • Execute monthly/periodic audits (internal, statutory, TAX & GST) and give directive to
  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place
  • Ensure timely compliance of payments and returns of all statutory requirements like VAT, SDL, PAYE, NSSF, TAX RETURNS etc.
  • Prepare requirements for assessments and other related matters with the various authorities like Income Tax, Sales Tax, Service Tax, TRA & other authorities.
  • To review & analysis of existing system and implementation of further improvements. Participate technology up gradation in the organization & process for the coordination between internal & external
  • Handle the administrative and human resource needs of the company including payroll, and benefits functions-with an eye to continuously developing and improving systems, checking and reviewing of monthly payroll related compliance.

  • Responsible for Treasure
  • Effectively train, support and provide leadership to the lodge finance teams; hold weekly meetings to manage performance & mentor staff effectively; achieve optimum staff performance
  • Provide guidance & on job (system, SOP, report, software) training to the lodge finance teams in relation to the front office, materials control & back office; carry out necessary formal training(s)
  • Develop lodge finance teams in a collaborative manner through effective communication, continuous learning & system optimization initiatives; delegate authority to utilise available skill set strength(s)
  • Evaluate performance of staff in order to acknowledge efficient employees & guide underperforming employees; identify relevant staff who require training & implement necessary training accordingly
  • Provide feedback to staff who are persistently underperforming; ensure that HR is kept well informed of staff performance challenges.
  • Provide support by regularly visiting group locations to mentor & supervise financial operations staff

Prerequisites:
  • CPA and ACCA (Chartered Accountant)

Education:
  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance and MBA
Experience:
  • Minimum of ten years plus in progressively responsible financial leadership roles preferable in Hospitality Industry. Previous experience working with an ERP system.

Senior Safari Planner  (2 Positions)
Our client is a Destination Management Company (DMC) with local knowledge, expertise and resources, working in the design and implementation of tour itineraries in East Africa. The company provides both a creative and professional level of expertise when preparing programmers tailored specifically to the client’s unique brief and budget.

Department: Sales & Marketing Department
Report to: Marketing Manager
Salary: 3,500,000 Gross Salary

General Responsibilities
Be a key member of the sales team; achieving growth and hitting sales targets. Help define essential sales points in a given key market. Manage a team of safari planners in the given market. Collect information to ensure that the company grows its presence in the given market. Analyze reports in detail to understand the performance of the business. Drive the development of the company’s specialization by engaging in experiential travel and developing the idea of tailor made travel to the next level. Service existing accounts and establish new accounts, by ensuring that the quality and timing of response meets the company’s expectations.

Specific Responsibilities
Ø Prepare detailed, articulate and comprehensive itineraries and quotations;
Ø Manage the full booking process, from commencement to confirmation;
Ø Engage in the role of mentor to support staff in the team to realise their potential;
Ø Manage a group of safari planners and ensure that each member fulfils their role, providing the necessary support:
Ø Present, promote and sell products and services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers;
Ø Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing and potential customers to meet their needs;
Ø Establish, develop and maintain positive business relationships with our agents and direct guests;
Ø Reach out to agent leads through cold calling;
Ø Achieve set sales targets and outcomes within schedule;
Ø Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments;
Ø Analyze market potential, track sales and produce status reports;
Ø Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends;
Ø Take feedback positively and implement the necessary changes;
Ø Develop and test unique business strategies and concepts;
Ø Collaborate with colleagues and peers on the sales, marketing and product development teams to improve overall customer experience and satisfaction;
Ø Stay up to date on company best practices, policies, products, pricing and promotions;
Ø Increase overall sales efficiency and profitability through excellent sales strategies; and
Ø Attend training and familiarisation trips according to company requirements.

Requirements
Ø Tanzanian Citizenship;
Ø Bachelor’s degree in Tourism or related field;
Ø Seven plus years of relevant experience with at least four years in a managerial position.
Ø Understanding of local and international tourism;
Ø Understanding of modern IT systems, including the ability to work with Microsoft Office programmes and the Google Suite;
Ø Knowledge of a European language would be advantageous;
Ø Ability to travel when necessary, in order to meet with customers and stakeholders, to build business relationships.
