Heart to Heart Foundation (HtHF) was established in 1988 to bring together a beautiful society by supporting both domestic and international children and their families, who are suffering from poverty, disease and disability. We started to work in Tanzania since 2009 dealing with Eye Health issues and launched the Tanzania branch on June 30th, 2011 with registration No. 00NGO/00004737.

HtHF is planning to implement WASH project in Mtama district, Tanzania”, HtHF is looking for an experienced Tanzania who will cover the following place.

Job title : Project Manager (WASH/Public Health)
Office location : Lindi Town
Duration : 3 yrs. (Yearly contract and extendable)
Summary of Core Function
Project Manager should be technical expert in all matters pertaining of program planning and its execution; she/he is expected to provide technical leadership and oversight of project implementation under HQ supervision.

Responsibilities
Project management
  • Project design & Launch new project;
  • Manage project implementation;
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of relevant data as well as support strengthening of the related M&E systems;
  • Lead efforts in writing and reviewing technical program documents including project reports, work-plans, publications, best practices, lessons learned and other relevant documents;
  • Ensure the project budget executed according to the plan
Partnership and Networking
  • Establish and manage related stakeholder relations including coordination meetings and technical working groups; Office Management
  • Develop communication tools, presentations, background information and reports;
  • Manage a team with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities;
  • Manage HR & administration matters (local staff employment contract, any HR-related issues)
  • Ensure the office Finance management is in order (finance document, finance report to HQ, asset management
Any Other 
  • Represent Heart to Heart Foundation Tanzania in national conferences, if required;
  • Additional responsibilities will be allocated if required;

Requirements
Education and Experience:
  • Academy background(at least degree or more) in WASH, public health or any relevant major;
  • At least ten (10) years of working experience in community development, especially in public health projects, includingfive (5) years of experience in WASH;
  • At least 3 years of leading experience in Redesign, implementation, and management of donor-funded programs
  • At least 5 years of experience in a management position;
  • Demonstrated success in collaboration, communication, and relationship building with clients, partners, andcolleagues based in other locations;

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge and experience with project management techniques;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication including English proficiency;
  • Proficiency of computer literate; Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Ability to adapt and work under various working conditions, work effectively under tight deadlines, and manage projects independently;
  • Must have experience working for or collaborating with central and local government, local and international NGOs, and/or multilateral agencies;
  • Solid technical knowledge in the following areas:
  • Deep understanding of WASH-related (WPC, CLTS/ SLTS, Sanitation Marketing, etc)
  • New project development, especially proposal writing;
  • Strong project planning and management capability;
  • Skilled in project monitoring and evaluation techniques;
  • Ability to develop and maintain close and effective relationships with partnering organizations at local, national, and international levels;
  • Understanding of grants, contracts and other funding mechanisms;
  • Strong organizational and management skills, such as setting priorities and completing tasks on time and on budget;
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities with minimal supervision;
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work across cultures;
  • Strong commitment to the mission and vision of HtHF;
  • Strong work ethic(Truthful and sincere personality)
