The key responsibilities
of this role is to co-ordinate, coach and control the activities of the level one maintenance teams in the production environment and to provide specialist technical advice to ensure maximum equipment availability.

Maintain a safe and healthy working environment
  • Comply with VPO safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and legislation
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping standards
Maintain, calibrate, repair equipment and optimise plant and associated devices
  • Locate plant, equipment, spares and relevant documentation / systems
  • Plan and prepare the job
  • Carry out repairs / maintenance
  • Continuously improve (optimise) plant, process equipment and systems
  • Operate plant and process equipment
  • Maintain Calibration Registers
Work in Teams
  • Communicate effectively in teams
  • Contribute to self and team development
  • Develop team competencies
Health, Safety and Environment
  • Identification of unsafe practices.
  • Safety inspections conducted.
  • Safe maintenance practices audited.
  • Adherence to PPE policies.
  • Maintenance tools are in good working order
  • Apply the VPO principles and practicesAll work is carried out using the VPO principles

Minimum requirements:

Education:
  • Bachelor in Electrical Engineering
  • 3 to 5 years production Engineering experience with 3 years in supervisory level is desirable
  • Knowledge of Brewing and Packaging plant will be an advantage
  • PC literate (Proficiency in Microsoft office applications)
Training:
  • Min – 3 - 5 years Utilities engineering in a FMCG environment
  • Fundamentals Of Utilities
  • Advanced Utilities
  • Asset Management
Experience:
  • 2-3 Years Electrical with in-depth Electrical knowledge. Planning experience required
  • Experience in medium voltage substation preferably 11kV
  • Ability to maintain Standby generators up to 10MW
  • Ability to maintain Power factor correction units
