The Barrick Africa Middle East Team is seeking to recruit a Mine Technician to join and grow our team.

Responsibilities
- Perform Drilling and Blasting QAQC including borehole tracking.,
- Ikon logging blasting.
- Design rings and prepare layouts for drill and Blast team.
- Issue of prepping and charging plans.
- Conduct daily and weekly secondary ventilation survey inspection.
- Issue of mine ventilation layout.
- Weekly and daily ventilation plan and consumable forecast.
- Identify Continuous Business Improvement opportunities.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and all relevant company procedures.
- Support the safety, health, and environmental programmers.
Qualification requirements
- Diploma in Mining Engineering/Geology/Civil or equivalent.
- Possess a Valid Tanzanian driving license, class B, C, D and E.
- Able to Drive Manual Transmission/Stick Shift Transmission.
Experience and competencies needed
- Minimum of two (02) years’ experience in an underground mining environment.
- Strong Knowledge of Paste fill backfill, and Ventilation or mining design software will add advantage.
- Ability to consistently manage such a diversified portfolio in a high-pressure environment.
- Must be motivated individual with ability to operate with minimum supervision.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong values in safety commitment, policy and enforcement related experience and background.
- Performing tasks under minimal supervision and monitoring.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Performance orientated, strongly motivated and maintains a high work standard. Strong work ethic. Shows initiative. Adaptable to change management processes. Focused on continuous improvement.

- Be able to conduct Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment.

About the Team
The North Mara gold mine is located in north-west Tanzania in the Tarime district of the Mara region. It is around 100 kilometres east of Lake Victoria and 20 kilometres south of the Kenyan border.
North Mara started commercial production in 2002. The mine is a combined open pit and underground operation from two deposits, Gokona (underground) and Nyabirama (open pit). The process plant has the capacity to process an average of 8,000 tonnes of ore per day.
