Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College (KCMUCo) is a constituent College of Tumaini University Makumira. The College is adjacent to KCMC Hospital in Moshi, Tanzania. The College trains health professionals for various University awards in health and allied sciences.

GAMES AND SPORTS COACH GRADE I
Games And Sports Coach Grade I at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College (KCMUCo) November, 2023
Educational Qualifications:
Certificate of Secondary Education (Form Four), a Technician Certificate (NTA Level 5) plus Diploma in Sports Coaching Education (NTA Level 6) conducted by the Malya College of Sports Development or other related qualifications from a recognised training institution.
Additional qualifications:
Attendance to short courses, workshops and symposiums in coaching or sports administration will be an added advantage.
Work Experience:
- A working experience of at least one year, after attaining Diploma qualifications. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of different games and sports.
- Games and sports teaching and coaching skills.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate technical information about games and sports, and give clear and concise feedback to student athletes, both during training sessions and in game situations. Ability to build relationships with student athletes and establish trust and respect.
- Leadership skills:
- Ability to motivate student athletes on an individual basis and suggest strategies to win as a team and inspiring games and sports participants to do their best.
- Decision-making skills:
- Ability to assess team’s performance during matches and games/sports events and decide how best to proceed.
- Personality Traits: Interpersonal skills, enthusiasm and dedication, patience and physical stamina.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for coaching College athletic teams; choosing team members; developing game/sports strategies.
- Responsible for getting athletic teams ready to play competitively in games, tournaments, and championships.
- To put together a team of the best athletes available in the specific game/sport.
- Try-out sessions at the beginning of each season and invite the outstanding and most promising athletes to be part of the team.
- Promoting sports activities for both staff and students.
- Recruit students to play on various games/sports teams.
- Evaluate each athlete’s assets, drawbacks, and skills to determine who will be of greatest value to the team.
- Sets times for the team to have practice sessions and meetings.
- Putting scheduled events on the calendar and notifying team members and others of the dates.
- Responsible for scheduling practice areas, and transportation when games are played away from the College.
- Taking charge of playing grounds, courts and equipment.
- Develop budgets, order equipment, keep it repaired and accounted for.
- Providing information about health, nutrition, and fitness to the teams.
- Performing other related duties as may be assigned by College Authority.
