Mponde Holding Company Limited (MHCL) is incorporated as Limited Liability Company established under the Companies Act Cap 212. The Company is solely owned by the Public Entities. The MHCL head office is located at Plot 38 Kweminyasa – Mponde, Bumbuli District Council in Tanga Region. The Company owns a tea-processing factory at Mponde and deals with the purchase of green tea leaves and processing the same.

The MHCL is seeking to employ qualified, dynamic, committed, responsible, and self-motivated people to fill the following vacant positions mentioned below:

Supplies Officer (1)
Supplies officer at Mponde Holding Company Limited (MHCL) November, 2023
Main Responsibilities

• Keep records of purchase and sensitive documents in safe custody
• To consolidate the Company procurement requirements for preparation of annual procurement plan
• Post entries in material supplies ledgers and Preparation of Tender Board Meeting
• Check transactions in stores accounting documents and registers.
• Responsible for physical checks and accounts of received goods
• Prepare purchase requisitions/orders upon approval by your supervisor
• To check and prepare statements of requirements, tender advertisement, and contract documents

Academic qualification

• Holders of Bachelor Degree in Material Management, Procurement and Logistics Management. Having CPSP/CSP or equivalent is an added advantage.

Work experience

• Candidate shall have 3 years working experience in a related field.

Extension Officer (2)
Extension officer (2) at Mponde Holding Company Limited (MHCL) November, 2023
Main Responsibilities

• To provide agriculture extension services to the company farms, individual farmers and those within AMCOS around Lushoto and Korogwe District.
• Organizing plucking time table and daily communication with AMCOS
• Organize field days and visit tours to and from field class/factory visit.
• To attend workshops, training and conferences with all company departments.
• To provide a link between transport officer, farmers and factory manager for smooth running of the factory.
• Promotes good agricultural practices such as plucking, handling and transportation to ensure budgeted volume of high quality leaf is achieved Provides green leaf projections to be incorporated to production budget;
• Promotes good relationship with neighbors and other stakeholders to create harmony
• Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor

Academic qualification

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in agriculture general or any related discipline.

Work experience

• Candidate shall have at least three years of relevant work experience in reputable Institution. Basic knowledge of weed and pests’ identification of green leaf and control, Knowledge of soil testing and fertilizer application in Tea, Ability to live and work independently in rural area with prolonged hours.

Factory Engineer (1)
Factory engineer at Mponde Holding Company Limited (MHCL) November, 2023
Main Responsibilities

• Oversees engineering design, Installations & Commissioning of factory equipment
• Ensures factory realizes maintenance full potential and areas of improvement are identified and addressed effectively to achieve throughput at highest standards;
• Develops, implements and maintains preventative and reactive maintenance plans ensuring highest quality of end product
• Supervises maintenance of equipment and other estate property by observing world class practices and/or manufacturers’ recommendations;
• Ensures proper supply of power for factory and other allied areas;
• Designs and implements cost reduction production methods and identification of operation business improvements;
• Prepare plan and budget for maintenance and capital projects activities and ensures maintenance and capital projects activities are managed within budged and cost optimized
• Ensures occupational health and safety standards and food safety standards across the factory are observed and to see to it that the workers abide by the SHEQ rules associated with the factory;

Academic qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, agriculture engineering, chemical processing engineering or equivalent qualifications and must be registered with professional body.

Work experience

• Candidate shall have at least two (2) years’ experience in Tea processing industry or related industries

Driver Cum Field Clerk (1)
Driver Cum Field Clerk at Mponde Holding Company Limited (MHCL) November, 2023
Main Responsibilities

• Drive Company motor vehicles
• Maintain and records vehicle logbooks
• Responsible for safe-keeping of the vehicle and tools entrusted to him/her Report promptly any defect or problems detected in the vehicle
• Dispatch or collect documents/letters
• Work on some minor repair of vehicles
• Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor. To collect green leaf from farmers and help them to plan and pluck 80% of Shoots per Kilo and eventually constant supply of green leaf enough to run the factory.

Academic qualification

• Holder of Form IV or VI certificate (CSEE or ACSEE) with passes in English, Kiswahili plus an advanced drivers certificate Grade Two and traded Test Grade II in motor mechanics from a recognized institution. A valid class “Cl” or class “E” driving license.

Work experience

• Candidate shall have 3 years work experience in driving.

Remuneration
As provided in the salary structure and in the MHCL Incentive Scheme.
