Job Details
Mwambao is hiring for a talented individuals to lead Hr department. (HRM) will administer all human resources management activities within MWAMBAO/MCCC. /She/he is responsible to ensure all staff are complying with organisation HR and other policies , keep detailed records of job descriptions, schedule interviews for job candidates and conduct onboarding and new staffs. file complaints from employees and use a structured system to respond to any issues within an organisation. She/he is responsible for the HR planning, recruitment, placement, performance management, training and development, benefits administration, employee relations.

He/she promotes participatory management, and the safety and health of MWAMBAO/MCCC staff. The HRM also advises line managers on HR issues, and provides functional supervision of Program Office staff assigned in HR administration responsibilities. She/he provides strategic and operational advice and takes responsibility in support of MWAMBAO/MCCC Strategic Plan 2023-2027.

HRM will directly report to the Head of Operations for the MCCC/Mwambao. S/He contributes designing and implementing science-based management and ensures the monitoring plans and tools are having the desired results to support conservation and sustainable resource use.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
  • Implement and update on a regular basis MWAMBAO/MCCC’s HR strategies, policies, procedures and guidelines in compliance with best practices and National laws.
  • Keep all staff informed of HR policies and procedures and of any changes, on a timely basis.
  • Work closely with Head of Operations, Program Coordinators and CEO to ensure consistent compliance and uniform implementation of the HR policy and procedures throughout the organisation.
  • Review and recommend policies and guidelines on how to attract, motivate and retain staff.
  • Guide MWAMBAO on legal responsibility relating to areas of labour law, employee taxation and employment insurance laws. Liaison with legal counsel as required.
  • Regularly review and update Human Resource Manual to ensure consistency with MWAMBAO/MCCC labour laws and best practices in the HR field.
  • Investigate employee issues and conflicts and brings them to resolution
  • Use performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to team
  • Partner with management to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business initiatives
  • Provide support and guidance to admin and program staff 4.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Education/Training Required
  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience in human resource management. 
  • Desired Masters degree in HR management, administration or related field.
Experience Required 
  • 5 years previous experience in HR management, of which 2 years should be in a senior level position. 
  • Desired Head of the HR department or unit in a NGO. 

Technical Skills Required
  • Knowledgeable about labour laws;
  • Financial management skills
  • Facilitation skills
  • Excellent report-writing and communication skills
  • Computer skills in MS Word, Excel
  • Job Evaluation processes
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to inspire and empower others;
  • Excellent and proven experience in strategic planning of human resource management;
  • Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality, sensitivity to HIV/AIDS,transparent and participatory management. Desired
  • Experience with HR Management Information System.
