JOB VACANCY – PROJECT SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER – FULL TIME – 100%

Project Supply Chain Manager at Médecins Sans Frontières October, 2023
Title: Project Supply Chain Manager
Direct Reports: DEPUTY COORDINATOR SUPPLY CHAIN (DCSC)
Location: DAR ES SALAAM

MAIN PURPOSE

Support the Deputy Coordinator Supply Chain in defining, coordinating and monitoring the supply chain activities in Coordination according to MSF protocols, standards and procedures in order to ensure the optimal running of supply activities in mission.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Finance In collaboration with the Supply Chain Coordinator or, planning, establishing and reviewing the supply activities in the mission including its budget, in order to identify and optimize the response to the needs of the mission and the targeted population
  • Monitoring and ensuring the efficient and smooth running of the following supply activities in the coordination: order processing, local purchase management, physical (warehousing) and administrative (management of movements) stock management, freight management, supply administration and implementation of standard supply tools (UF, Portal, etc.)
  • Ensuring the availability of relevant management data to the owners of the stock, project and capital coordination (expired drugs, risk of shortages, stock reports, lead time, pipeline, etc.).
  • Support the Deputy Coordinator Supply Chain in Managing the supply team in the coordination, and in collaboration with the DCSC, participating in the planning and implementation of HR associated processes (recruitment, training, briefing/debriefing, evaluation, detection of potential, development and communication) of the staff under his / her responsibility in order to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required to correctly perform all supply activities
  • Participating in monthly reporting according to guidelines

Minimum Educational Qualification:
  • Essential degree and specialization in Logistics/Supply Chain
Experience:
  • Essential in supply chain management (minimum 2 years) and in organization of supply administration and procedures
  • Desirable understanding of MSF Field Logistics (general knowledge of MSF equipment and kits)
  • Knowledge of Tanzania importation laws, understand the supply contexts and challenges in the country with practical experiences
Languages:
Fluent oral and written English and Swahili (speak, read and write)

o Essential computer literacy (word, excel, power point and logistics / supply chain ERP)

JOB VACANCY – Watsan Technician

Title: WATSAN TECHNICIAN

Required Criteria:
Minimum Educational Qualification:
  • Technical certification or proven background, desirable specialization in water and sanitation
Experience:
· Previous experience in technical works

Knowledge and skills
· Basic plumbing skills, usage of tools. Basic calculation skills. Basic skills on stock management.

Languages:
· English and Swahili (fluent, oral & written) required.

Main purpose:
Supporting the Watsan Manager in the implementation, monitoring, maintaining, and trouble-shooting of Water Hygiene Sanitation activities and infrastructure in the project according to MSF protocols, standards and procedures in order to improve health and living conditions of the target population

Main Responsibilities:
• Carrying out tasks directly related to the Watsan activities such as construction and maintenance of infrastructures in the project according to MSF protocols and standards concerning the operation of water supply, waste management and excreta disposal, hygiene and infection control.
• Ensuring the cleaning and maintenance of the Watsan structures and when applicable, of the medical facilities.
• Identifying, recruiting, training, and supervising daily labourers or hygiene agents for Watsan activities
• Informing the Watsan Manager of any difficulties, anomalies and problems that may affect the normal functioning of activities and tasks in his/her area of responsibility.
• Assisting the Watsan Manager in Watsan data collection and reporting, as well as maintaining updated files and records of assigned project activities
• Being responsible for equipment, tools, and consumables, verifying that they are safely used and maintained. Reporting to the supervisor any need of renewal and the weekly/monthly consumption

MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities:
Carry out all water and sanitation related activities in MSF premises:
– Daily data collection and follow-up.
– Maintenance of water and wastewater network, drainages and grease traps.
– Cleaning of water tanks and reservoirs.
– Maintenance of water dispensers and WASH tools (water analysis tools, water pumps).
– Preparing and implementation of IRS.
– Waste management.
– Idientify WASH related needs and follow-up of items and stocks.

Implement and supervise WASH related activities in MoH supported facilities:
– Follow-up of water supply, data collection.
– Support MoH personel in water network and waste water network.maintenance.
– Follow-up on waste management quality through supervision and trainings.
– Participate in improving hygiene standards and IPC in close collaboration with MoH staff.
– Participate in improving linen and laundry management.
– Preparing and implementation of IRS.

Reporting:
Produce weekly and monthly reports of wash activities in supported premises and facilities, using data collected, according to given templates.

JOB VACANCY – GARDENER
Title
: GARDENER

Job Summary
Carrying out gardening according to MSF procedures and following the line manager’s instructions in order to maintain clean and organized all green areas in MSF premises.

Minimum Educational Qualification:
  • Desirable secondary education

Experience:
  • Desirable experience one year in similar position with similar responsibilities
  • Desirable understanding of MSF activities in general
  • Languages:
  • Swahili and English preferably (speak, read and write).

Accountabilities
• Performing gardening work in the MSF premises, including but are not limited to the following:
• Executing green areas maintenance activities (mowing, pruning, watering, fertilizing and weeding) and executing preventive and curative phyto-sanitary treatments
• Preparing and maintaining flowerbeds and ornamental planting, as decided with the line manager and preparing soil, sowing seeds
and planting grass. Reporting any earthwork or maintenance work needed in MSF premises
• Refilling water cisterns and informing line manager when there is a shortage
• Performing simple tasks involving earthworks, laying borders and paving and drainage
• Training the security guards to correctly water flowers and plants, taking into account the availability of water resources
• Keeping area within MSF premises clean and tidy (ex. empty dustbins, sweep paths, etc) and ensuring proper use, storage and maintenance of the equipment and tools provided.
• Performing tasks delegated to him/her as specified in his/her job description
