Position: HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER (2 POST)
Job location: Dar es salaam
Reports to: Plant Manager
Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risk
- Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine
- inspections
- Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company
- Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and
- other relevant topics
- Monitors all Compliance with safety procedures
- Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings
- Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed
- Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/ or pollutants,
- as required
- To ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety
- Social and environmental laws procedures guidelines and specification and to provide
- advice on measures needed to minimize hazards
- Maintain compliance with all safety regulations.
- Standardize health and safety in order to remain consistent
- Identify hazardous waste and disposing of it correctly
- Regularly inspection equipment’s
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Chemical Engineering or any other related
- field from a recognized institution
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing industry handling health and
- safety role
Key Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in use of MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint, Internet and E-Mail, MS-Excel.
- Exceptional communication skills
- Good Presentation Skills
- Good understanding of environmental Laws
- Ability to work independently and as a team.
