Request For Proposal
The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is among the leading conservation organizations working around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people.
Through the Lake Tanganyika Program, TNC is working with a wide range of partners to enhance community-led of fisheries resources in Nkasi District Council.
For that purpose, Collaborative Fisheries Management Areas (CFMA) have been established in two wards of Kirando and Mkinga mainly to protect and conserve Fish Breeding Sites(FBS).
Sustainability of a CFMA and its leadership depends entirely on availability of financial resources to support management interventions. Lessons from other project villages show that the established BMU/CFMAs are not implementing their duties properly due to lack of sustainable source of revenue to support BMU activities and hence illegal fishing practices are highly destroying fisheries resource in those areas.
Lake Tanganyika project aims at ensuring that there is sustainable financing mechanism for implementation of CFMA objectives and improved livelihoods of fisher communities. To deeply understand the environmental, social, and economic viability of these initiatives, and to deeply support the resource and financing base needed to grow their impact, The Nature Conservancy (TNC) in collaboration with the Nkasi District seeks to engage a Vendor/s to conduct a comprehensive capacity building trainings to these cooperative initiatives after assessing the surrounding enabling environment, critical gaps for enterprise development and relevant stakeholders.
MODE OF APPLICATION:
Interested and technically competent vendors are encouraged to reach out to TNC to get the full request for proposal.
The deadline for submission of proposals is set on 13th September 2023.
