STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable. Having a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Agriculture economics, agribusiness, rural development, statistics, natural resources management of other related fields is an advantage.
- Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Swahili languages.

At this level, work is carried out under minimum supervision. Job holders are expected to produce organized and accurate technical work and reports. They may provide guidance on standard practices to other staff and counterparts in their area of work.
JOB PURPOSE
To perform monitoring activities within a specific coverage area and provide reports to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
- Monitor implementation of agriculture activities ensuring timely delivery (including observation of partner performance); prepare process monitoring reports and status of action items; escalate issues and participate in resolving them
- Monitor other program activities as need to meet minimum monitoring requirements, improve linkages with other activities, or provide a new perspective
- Work closely with NGOs, CSOs, village and ward leaders, religious and community leaders to get required support for project implementation
- Monitor progress of agreed actions on gender integration, financial inclusion and market linkages in all projects and provide feedback to project partners including farmers
- Monitor implementation and performance of demonstration plots, block farms, seeds plots to ensure practical adoption of new knowledge by farmers
- Suggest improvements for field monitoring processes and procedures for efficient implementation of the WFP assistance
- Support the supervisor in compiling inputs for semi-monthly reports
- Compile and analyze information from the farmers’ database in collaboration with WFP country office relevant units including with the M&E unit
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Programme Monitoring and Review | Gathers, organizes, and provides data on programme outputs, processes, and outcomes, including distribution plans and the status, quantity, and quality of food and cash distributed and technical assistance provided. |
Knowledge & Skills:
- Data analytical knowledge and skills on programme output and outcome data monitoring.
- General knowledge of monitoring systems, processes, tools, and standards.
- Compilation, analysis, and presentation of data using statistical and presentation software such as Excel, SPSS, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in direct implementation or field monitoring of community or village-based projects.
- Demonstrate to have problem solving skills
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
Experience:
- At least 4 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Has worked with technical teams (i.e., Agriculture, nutrition, food security analysis, etc.).
- Has contributed to implementation of programmes in support to smallholder farmers
- Has experience in dealing with horticultural crops
- Has experience in applying sustainable farming systems and environmental conservation practices in agriculture.
