We are seeking an Individual Giving Manager to play a crucial role in our Fundraising and Communications Team.

This role is ideal for a highly motivated person, with at least three years’ experience of managing or implementing individual giving fundraising programmes across multiple channels. You should have a strong working knowledge of donor retention and acquisition strategies. We are looking for someone who wants to take the next step forward in their fundraising career and join a dynamic global child rights organisation.

The role is currently a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT).

Key roles and responsibilities
The primary purpose of this role is to lead, input into, and implement the organisation’s individual giving strategy with responsibility for maintaining and growing our supporter base of child sponsors, regular givers, and other supporters.

This is an exciting key role within the Fundraising and Communications department. You will manage a team of three and work closely with the wider Fundraising and Communications team comprising of fundraising, digital, and communications officers, reporting directly to the Head of Fundraising and Communications.

You will be responsible for developing and delivering a profitable individual giving function and delivering ambitious but achievable targets for the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy
Deliver strategic projects, within key performance indicator targets, that contribute to the development of the Individual Giving annual operational plan. Consistently analyse results, interpret trends, and provide recommendations on strategic marketing direction. Create and implement tactics for donor development and cultivation.

Working closely with the Head of Fundraising and Communications and the Individual Giving team, you will lead the development of the organisation’s individual giving strategy, with a focus on building income streams within the individual giving portfolio, including cash and regular giving, tax refunds, legacies, and digital.

As a leader, you will ensure your team members are clear about what level of delivery is expected of them as a team and as individuals, providing guidance and coaching as necessary, so that they develop their skillset whilst meeting targets aligned to the strategic plans.

Data
With the support of our Donor Relations Officers, analyse and develop the fundraising database (PlanCRM) to support effective stewardship, data capture, data management, donation processing and segmentation of donors. Ensure that all activities associated with individual giving are compliant with current GDPR legislation.

Customer Service
Oversee customer service activities from our Donor Relations and Individual Giving Officers to ensure our supporters feel valued and understand the impact their support is having.

Finance
Regularly monitor and evaluate plans and budgets, taking effective action where necessary and ensure that appropriate reporting, monitoring, and evaluation of activities takes place.

Person specification
Education
  • Degree level qualification and/or suitable accredited fundraising qualification such as a Diploma in Fundraising.

Skills and abilities

  • You will have excellent analytical skills, be highly numerate, with experience of managing fundraising databases and managing budgets.
  • You will have experience of developing and implementing an individual giving strategy, line management experience, experience of increasing income through donor acquisition and retention, and experience of implementing segmentation, targeting and positioning strategy skills.
  • You will have experience and knowledge of channel marketing, effective fundraising products and recruitment channels, and experience of managing income and expenditure budgets.
  • Knowledge of GDPR regulations is an advantage.
  • You will have excellent attention to detail, and experience of managing a wide and varied workload.
  • You will possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • You will have a commitment to gender transformation, and the values of Plan International Ireland.
  • You will have a proven ability to think and act strategically, planning and evaluating activities and opportunities.

Level of experience required
  • You will have at least four years’ experience in a direct marketing or fundraising environment, ideally with previous Child Sponsorship experience. Note: The ideal candidate will continue to be a member of the Senior Management Team if they have the appropriate experience.

Salary and benefits
Plan International Ireland operates a salary scale, as well as a broad range of employee benefits.
This role is graded as a Level 5 within our salary scale, with an expected range of between €50,000 and €55,000. Placement on the scale will be dependent on level of experience and fit within the role.

In addition to salary, Plan International Ireland provides a number of employee benefits, some of which include:
- Private Health Insurance for all employees (from commencement date)
- Matching company pension contributions up to 5% (once probation is complete)
- Flexible working hours (core hours of 10am to 4pm daily, minimum of 37 hours per week)
- Commitment to training and development.
- 25 days annual leave, increasing with length of service up to 30 days.

The Plan International Ireland office is located on Harrington Street, Dublin 8 (across from Brother Hubbard’s). We are just a stone’s throw away from the bustling and busy Camden Street area, with its many coffee shops, bars, restaurants, and much more! Our nearest LUAS stop is Harcourt Street.

The role is ideally full-time, although we will consider a part-time candidate. The role is primarily based in Dublin, but we will consider remote and flexible arrangements. We welcome candidates from outside of Ireland and the location of this role can be flexible where Plan International has an office* that can employ on behalf of Plan International Ireland and you have the pre-existing right to work and live.
