UNICEF Tanzania is currently implementing an integrated adolescent girls’ programme that focuses on empowerment of adolescent girls through ending child marriage and takes a multi-sectoral approach. The integrated multi-sectoral package of interventions will converge in the same geographical locations – selected wards in three districts in Songwe region in southern highlands which has high rates of child marriage and teenage pregnancies. The sectors in UNICEF Tanzania implementing the interventions include Child Protection, Education, Social and Behavior Change (SBC) and Innovations .The three outputs and key interventions include: The enabling environment enhanced to prevent child marriage through legal and policy reform and cross-sectoral coordination at national level, Adolescents girls and boys, families and communities supported to challenge harmful social norms and practices and promote gender equality and Opportunities strengthened for adolescent girls and boys for skills development and employability and access to platforms to raise their voices for change. Under output no 3 UNICEF is looking for a national consultant to: one, conduct a Landscape Analysis & Mapping exercise to gain insights into Tanzania’s young people and adolescent needs and aspirations, the organizations and individuals involved in providing training, skills building, microwork, learning and community engagement opportunities for adolescents and young people, second: establish partnerships with key stakeholders who will be instrumental in the roll out of the YOMA platform and the setup of the Yoma Ecosystem in Tanzania in collaboration with UNICEF and third to develop a comprehensive YOMA road map that outlines the key actions and milestones necessary for a successful deployment of the platform in Tanzania.

How can you make a difference?
- Landscape Analysis & Mapping exercise to identify key stakeholders involved in providing training, skills building, learning community engagement and livelihood (jobs, internships, entrepreneurship) opportunities for adolescents and young people. This will involve: Conducting a review of existing literature, policies, and reports related to challenges, aspirations and needs of the youth and adolescents in Tanzania.
- Map out UNICEF Tanzania current investments for adolescents and youth and identify entry points where Yoma could contribute as enabler.
- Identifying relevant organizations, institutions, and individuals involved in providing online and offline training, skills building, community engagement, entrepreneurship, employment and career services for adolescents and young people.
- Conducting interviews and focus group discussions with key stakeholders to gain insights into their work and potential areas for collaboration.
- Developing a report summarizing the findings of the Landscape Analysis & Mapping exercise.
- Present the Landscape Analysis & Mapping to the adolescent taskforce at UNICEF Tanzania
- YOMA Roadmap that outlines the key actions and milestones necessary for a successful deployment of the platform in Tanzania. This will involve: Engagement with the Global UNICEF Team in understanding the Yoma ecosystem, platform, and best practices in Yoma country roll-out.
- Developing a timeline for platform deployment and set up of Yoma ecosystem in Tanzania, including key milestones and deliverables. Develop a youth engagement strategy for the rollout of Yoma in Tanzania.
- Developing a monitoring and evaluation framework to track progress and assess impact.
- Partnership Establishment with key stakeholders to engage as part of Tanzania deployment. This will involve: Identifying potential partners, including private sector companies, educational institutions, CSOs, NGOs and local organizations.
- Conducting outreach to potential partners to build relationships and explain the core offer of the YOMA ecosystem.
- Draft template MOUs for partners outlining terms of engagement, values, and key expectations of the partnership
- Establishment of a minimum number of eco systemic partnerships and launch YoMA

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- University degree in Social sciences, Adolescent Development, Education, International development or other relevant related technical field
- Demonstrated professional experience in project management, business development, business administration, or relevant experience in the development and planning of new projects
- At least three years of professional experience in the areas of adolescent and young people’s engagement and / or entrepreneurship, project management, partnerships, community engagement, advocacy
- Previous experience of working with development actors: United Nations agencies, civil society, government entities.
- Experience in creating and managing partnerships, including international organizations, government, academia, and the private sector.
- Understanding of the Tanzanian context and education / entrepreneurship landscape.
- Desirable: previous demonstrated experience in designing and/or deployment of digital platforms for community / youth engagement
