Asasi ya Uwezeshaji Tanzania – ASUTA working in partnership with FHI 360 on Epidemic Control (EpiC) which is a global project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) which is dedicated to achieving and maintaining HIV epidemic control.
It is led by FHI 360 as prime and has a five-year period of performance from April 15, 2019 to April 14, 2024.

Asasi ya Uwezeshaji Tanzania – ASUTA is a non-profit making Organization that aims at improving the quality of life and health of Tanzanians in rural and urban areas especially the most vulnerable communities by addressing issues that affect Tanzanian local people including Health, Economic, Environmental protection, and Education to the most vulnerable people.
Currently, we are working in partnership with FHI 360 on Epidemic Control (EpiC) in Dar es Salaam and Lindi regional, JHPIEGO through USAID Afya Yangu project in Katavi, and MDM AHADI Project in Dar es Salaam.
In extending our support by strengthening the enabling environment and science-driven framework for sustainable marine protected areas and fisheries co-management in Tanzania we are offering the following open vacancy for interested candidates;
1. Job Title: Project Team leader
Full Time
Minimum Qualification Masters
Years of Experience 10 years
Specific Responsibilities:
· Leading marine ecological research studies
· Conducting benthic surveys and artisanal fishing pattern mapping surveys or other nearshore marine research
· Handling and analysis of Marine Survey data.
· Writing technical reports for international donors/organizations or other international audiences.
Education and Experience
· A master’s degree/Ph.D. in marine science or a related discipline
· Demonstrate experience leading marine ecological research studies in Tanzania or similar nearshore marine environments in the western Indian Ocean (WIO)
· At least 10 years of practical experience in the water field, experience in marine benthic surveys/ surveys/ another nearshore marine ecological research.
· Significant demonstrable experience in marine survey, data handling, and analysis.
· Significant demonstrable experience writing high-quality technical reports for international donors/organizations or other international audiences.
Additional attributes
Ability to perform and use computer applications
Proactive, resourceful, results-oriented, can-do attitude
2 Job Title: Field Unit Leaders
Full Time
Minimum Qualification Bachelor
Years of Experience 5 years
Roles or Responsibilities:
· Conducting benthic surveys and other marine nearshore ecological research.
· Marine navigation to generate systematic baseline data.
