Supply Chain Assistant (Mechanic &Generator Management)
Founded in 1956, The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-profit organization providing direct assistance to conflict-affected populations – refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs) and host communities – in more than 40 countries around the world. DRC has been implementing emergency response projects in Tanzania since the onset of the Burundi refugee crisis in 2015 in three refugee camps in the Kigoma Region at the border with Burundi.DRC’s integrated projects for refugees, asylum seekers and host communities comprise sectors such as Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM), Protection, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Shelter and infrastructure, General Food Distribution (GFD), Gender Based Violence (GBV), People with Special Need (PSN, Child Protection (CP) and Livelihoods.

Overall purpose of the role:
The purpose of this role is to provide efficient and effective support in managing all generators and providing any support related to mechanic issues in Nduta camp and Kibondo office. Ensuring DRC generators are managed as per the Donor’s and DRC Standard Operating Procedures at Nduta Camp and Kibondo DRC Office.

What we offer

Overall purpose of the role:
The purpose of this role is to provide efficient and effective support in managing all generators and providing any support related to mechanic issues in Nduta camp and Kibondo office. Ensuring DRC generators are managed as per the Donor’s and DRC Standard Operating Procedures at Nduta Camp and Kibondo DRC Office.
Main Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all generators in Nduta camp and ensuring that all fuel received is properly managed, tracked and accounted for.
- To operate the generators as needed and make sure they all always in good running condition including refuelling and other necessary oil and lubricants
- To produce weekly and monthly fuel consumption reports and share with the Supply Chain Team Leader.
- To resolve any power issues in Nduta camp and Kibondo office as soon as they arise.
- Assessing any electrical/ power needs and work closely with the camp logistician in ensuring timely support.
- To report any generators repair and maintenance as per the SOP.
- To report to the Supply Chain Team Leader in case of any damages, electrical faults and in case of any discrepancy with regards to power issues and generators management.
- To assist the Camp warehouse keepers on periodic physical inventory checks.
- To assist the warehouse personnel on the quantity and quality of goods received.
- To perform warehouse management activities as instructed by the line manager
- To ensure that the work is performed to the best of knowledge and being able to demonstrate high level of commitment to DRC

Education background:
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanic profession is required.
- Essential Experience Minimum 3 years working with Refugees context
- High level of professionalism
- Experience in working with international organizations is an added advantage. Mainly UN agencies
- Experience in Supply Chain i.e Procurement, Fleet, warehouse, and assets management
- Experience in working as a team
- Experience with meeting deadlines
- Knowledge of key donor policies and compliance procedures, like UNHCR, WFP, Danida
- Experience working with DRC Dynamics or a similar ERP system
- Full professional proficiency in English and Kiswahili
- Excellent communication skills – both oral and written
