TANROADS October, 2022 TANZANIA NATIONAL ROADS AGENCY (TANROADS) is a Semi-Autonomous Agency under the Ministry of Works, Transport and Communications established on July 1, 2000 and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Tanzania Mainlands Trunk and Regional Roads Network and Construction of Airports. Its primary functions include Management of Maintenance and Development Works, Operations of Road Networks and Axle Load Control, Implementation of Road Safety and Environmental Measures, Provision of advice on strategic framework, policies and plans for the road sector.

Weighbridge Shift In-Charge (1 Post)
Position Title: Weighbridge Shift In-Charge (1 Post)Weighbridge Shift In-Charge (1 Post)
Scope of Positions:
The successful candidate should be ready to work for considerable lengths of time when required under minimum supervision.
Key Qualifications:
- Holder of Bachelor Degree in any profession from a recognized Higher Learning Institution/College
- Age limit: between 35-40 years;
- Must be Computer literate; and
- Must be fluent in Kiswahili and English Languages:

- Carrying out activities as described in the EAC Vehicle Load Control Act, of 2016 and its Regulations, 2017. The activities include the following:
- To Weigh Motor Vehicle of Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) > 3,500Kg on our Public Roads;
- To impose road damage fee on the spot when the vehicle is found overloaded;
- To measure physical dimension of motor vehicles or any load being carried on the motor vehicle and in case on non-compliance with vehicle dimension limits the transporters should be caused to seek a special permit;
- To ascertain compliance with the abnormal load permit, and
- To perform such other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor;
Weighbridge Operator (4 Posts)
Position Title: Weighbridge Operator (4 Posts)
Scope of Positions:
The successful candidate should be ready to work for considerable lengths of time when required under minimum supervision.
Key Qualifications:
- Holder of Full Technician Certificate (FTC) or Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or any other Engineering field from recognized Learning Institution/College
- Age: Not above 45 years;
- Must be Computer literate
- Must be fluent in Kiswahili and English Languages:
- Must be a Tanzanian Citizen.

Duties and responsibilities: –
- He/she shall be responsible for undertaking activities as described in the East African Community Vehicle Load Control (Enforcement Measures, Special Roads and Vehicle Dimensions) Regulations (2018) and Weighbridge Operational Manual (2018).
- To weigh Vehicles passing on Weighbridge as per required Laws,
- To verify Vehicle dimensions for permit issuance.To calculate overload chargesT detain vehicles contravening axle load control Act.
- To provide advice to transporters in case of non-compliance with vehicle dimension limits,
- To perform such other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor;
Driver (2 Post)
Position Title: Driver (2 Post)
Scope of Positions:
The successful candidate should be ready to work for considerable lengths of time when required under minimum supervision.
Key Qualification
- Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination with Basic Driving Course offered by VETA or any other recognized institution and driving license Grade C or E with good track record in driving for the past years.
- At least three years experience.
- Age not above 45
- Must be Tanzanian citizen
