LVIA is an Italian NGO operating in Dodoma region. The organization is based in Kongwa town and implements activities across the Kongwa, Chamwino & Bahi districts. For the implementation of the new project, “Diverse Food System: Improving Nutrition by Supporting a Diversified and Sustainable Food System,”
LVIA is looking for the following jobs vacancies below:

Accountant
Summary:

The Accountant will perform various activities to control the organization’s financial resources and ensure that it complies with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements. Follow procedures and guidelines to accurately maintain the organization’s financial records and transactions.

Duration: The contract is 1 year period with 3 months’ probation. High possibility to renew for two more years, depending on funds & candidate’s performance.
Place of duty: Dodoma (LVIA Office)
Tentative starting date: Early November 2022

About You:
You enjoy spreadsheets but can join meetings confidently as well; you give great attention to detail, and you can prioritize & meet multiple deadlines. You are English fluent, responsible, with advanced organizational & supervisory skills.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent & CPA Holder
  • At least three years of experience in a relevant field, including supervisory experience
  • Experience in preparing budgets, compiling & analyzing data, and preparing financial reports
  • Knowledge of local laws, codes, and regulations
  • Computer Literature, advanced Excel

Functions:
  • Managing and supervising the work of the Assistant Accountant
  • Participating in the recruitment of staff by the Country Representative
  • Ensuring the timely payment of taxes & insurance, keeping track of staff annual leaves
  • Managing the monthly payroll of LVIA staff
  • Performing day-to-day accounting activities – registrations, cheques, bank transfers, reconciliation-
  • Updating the LVIA accounting software, checking the bank & cash balances at the end of each month
  • Monitoring the Secretary – Cashier, especially in money-missing cases or bank discrepancies
  • Checking accountancy documents from partner organizations regarding their eligibility
  • Preparing all the necessary documents for external auditing

Agronomist
Summary:
The Agronomist will serve as a trainer and communicator for the Agriculture Team, stakeholders, and beneficiaries; She / He will implement the Agriculture development program at the field level effectively and communicate & support the farmers.

Duration: The contract is 1 year period with 3 months’ probation. High possibility to renew for two more years, depending on funds & candidate’s performance.
Place of duty: Dodoma (LVIA Office)
Tentative starting date: Mid November 2022

About You:
You are a people person; you enjoy being in the field but also perform in the office when necessary; you are flexible and ready to move; you are fluent in English, a confident communicator, and able to put across your meaning transparently.

Requirements:

  • At least Diploma in Agronomy or relevant field
  • At least three years of experience in the same field
  • At least three years of experience in technical reporting & support of field activity implementation

Functions:

About You:
You are polite & discreet; always careful and concerned about safety regulations; trips across the Dodoma region & outside are very common, so you are flexible and enjoy traveling around; preferably, you are fluent in English.

Requirements:Ordinary level education
  • Reasonable driving license with knowledge and experience in car operation and maintenance

Functions:
  • Driving LVIA vehicles carefully, cleaning them regularly & maintain them in the best condition
  • Make strict follow-up of the ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of the vehicles
  • Before using a vehicle, make sure that it is in good condition and ready to be used
  • Keep proper records of the days in the field and present valid requests for allowances’ payment

Field Officers (2 Posts)
Summary:

The field officers will work at the office & field level; they will increase communities’ ownership, awareness & competencies through capacity-building actions and training. They will ensure the timely compilation of all official reports required by the LVIA and will generate materials & support all relevant logistics.

Duration: The contract is 1 year period with 3 months’ probation. High possibility to renew for two more years, depending on funds & candidate’s performance.
