Position: UG - High Voltage Electrical Supervisor

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
The purpose of the role is to assist Underground high voltage Senior Electrical Supervisor on shift. He/she will be working closely with experts in all aspects on effective facilities maintenance at the UG HME department.

- Grade one /level tree Trade test certificate in high voltage/ Full technician in electrical Engineering, Advance Diploma/ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering
- Must have High voltage training certificate

EXPERIENCE:
- At least 3 years’ experience as HV electrician doing troubleshooting and repairs at Underground High voltage cables runs, fan installation servicing of drilling jumbo and servicing UG pumps
- Sound knowledge on health safety and environmental issues
- Computer system application skills (Excel + word)
- Must have valid Tanzanian driving license with Manual light vehicle driving competency

MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Performing electrical fault diagnostics on Equipment and other machines to identify faults.
- Repairing electrical faults in jumbos, Solos, cubex starters, flyt pumps, stalker pumps and replacing damaged/faulty parts where necessary.
- Performing checks and tests to verify the success of repair work.
- Assembling and installing electrical and electronic systems in the equipment’s.
- Preparing time and cost estimates for business unit.
- Performing routine revision and maintenance on the machines.
- Performing checks and tests to verify the success of repair work.
- Works well with all stakeholders, co-operating and coordinating works to ensure that all equipment is optimized and running effectively.
- Respond promptly to all breakdowns, ensuring that equipment is returned effectively to production, whilst causing minimum disruption to its continuity and without compromising product quality or safety.
- Carries out planned maintenance activities in line with maintenance schedules and helps to develop and maintain schedules in line with requirements.
- Ensure all equipment processes are fully compliant with organizational and legislative health and safety requirement.
- The post holder will be competent to carry out High Voltage task based on projects works.
- Previous experience in UG Equipment Operational maintenance background is desirable.
- The above duties are not exhaustive, and the company may require you, from time to time and in exceptional circumstances to carry out further ad hoc duties within your capability and capacity.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- High voltage electrical knowledge.
- Knowledge of diagnostics tools for electrical fault finding.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and circuit diagrams.
- Ability to carry out/repair electrical wiring and installation.
- Strong manual skills and precision when carrying out repair and testing.
- Organizational skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Problem-solving skills.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- High voltage switching
- Previous experience in a similar role or time spent working on high voltage electrical equipment installed underground.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism in the workplace
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Advanced knowledge of electrical PLC systems.
