Call for Application
The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is now calling for applications
from Individual Experts/Consultants in the area of Production Quality Management
Background
This project “promote public health and social resilience against COVID-19” aims at upgrading domestic producers, material suppliers, and supportive public organizations in terms of 1) production capacity, 2) quality, and 3) business resilience & continuity in emergencies. Acknowledging that the domestic supply chain of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is a critical backbone for the country’s self-reliant capacity to combat the threat posed by COVID-19 and other communicable diseases, this project is jointly implemented by UNIDO and the national partners. The project goal is to be achieved through a combined approach delivering multiple assistance including but not limited to capacity-building raining, equipment supply, development of their Business Continuity Plans, etc.

In this context, UNIDO in collaboration with the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Health, therefore, wishes to invite applications from qualified individual consultants who meet the below qualifications and technical competencies.
Scope of Mission
The consultant will join the UNIDO team and lead the implementation of a series of practical capacity-building activities for the national manufacturers in the supply chain of PPE. The training topics are including but not limited to the quality approach according to ISO 9001, documentation of the quality system, quality policy, risk-based management, development and implementation of the quality control plan including various quality management tools and methodologies.

Period of Engagement: To be discussed and agreed (Mission-based contract)

- An advanced university degree relevant to the assignment
- Understanding of and commitment to UNIDO’s mission and vision (SDGs)
- Strong and strategic technical capabilities
- Strong communication, planning, reporting and writing abilities
- Highly experienced in training/facilitation
- Ability to work under pressure
- Understanding of Government of Tanzania’s agenda for industrialization Technical and Functional Competences
- Should be an IRCA or PECB ISO 9001 certified auditor or PECB Lead implementor ISO 9001 certified. Or an equivalent certification
- Should have at least 10 years experience in industrial production (either as Quality Manager, Production Manager or other responsibilities)
- At least 5 years experience as a trainer
- Proven experience in the development and implementation of quality control plans
- Proven experience in the development and implementation of quality documentation
- Should have a perfect mastering of PEST, SWOT, etc.
- The experience in the production of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), sanitizer and disinfectants will be an added advantage Application Should Include
