The WaterAid Global Campaigns Team plays a leadership role across the WaterAid Federation to drive the design and delivery of WaterAid's major advocacy and campaigns efforts to achieve SDG 6 - the global targets to secure clean water, decent sanitation and good hygiene (WASH) for all by 2030. We deliver an ambitious agenda, grounded in national level change and impact.

As our efficient, dynamic Advocacy Officer you will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of WaterAid's global advocacy priority campaigns, providing high quality, flexible all-round support and leading on specific advocacy projects. This might include a key role in planning our influencing around a specific international event (e.g. COP27 or the UN Water Summit), or being responsible for developing, launching and promoting key advocacy products like reports, briefs or films.

Whether it's persuading climate change decision-makers that sustainable access to clean water is fundamental to community resilience and adaptation, or convincing those focused on COVID-19 and future pandemic threats that investing in WASH in health care facilities must be a top priority, your work will help to show governments, donors and businesses why they need to take urgent action for WASH.

In this role, you will work with policy, advocacy and communication colleagues across the organisation, including country, regional and global teams, as well as with external stakeholders. You will be a self-starter, a great team player, a confident cross-cultural communicator and with strong project management skills.

About you:
* You will be highly efficient and organised, and have experience of working on complex multi-stakeholder projects related to advocacy/campaigning.
* You'll have experience of managing virtual and physical events, including logistics and managing contact with senior stakeholders.
* You will have excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to successfully manage complex and sensitive relationships to achieve collectively agreed goals.
* You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience of writing succinct briefings and verbally presenting to groups of stakeholders.
* And you'll have the ability to adapt to rapidly changing work and be able to demonstrate a positive 'can do' attitude.

Location:
This is a full time, permanent role. The role will be based in one of the following WaterAid Country Offices subject to right to work eligibility in the respective countries: Nigeria, Pakistan, Senegal, Tanzania, United Kingdom.

Salary
Salaries and benefits for different countries will vary in line with the location of the successful candidate and depending on experience. See further details below:
  • UK - London: Grade 5 - GBP 34,299 - 36,098
  • Nigeria: Grade E - NGN 8,149,627 - 11,194,254
  • Pakistan: Grade E - PKR 1,829,842 - 2,746,111
  • Senegal: Grade E - XOF 20,741,183 - 26,270,115
  • Tanzania: Grade E - TZS 65,421,086 - 81,776,358
