Position Description
The Bulyanhulu Team is seeking to recruit a Double Boom Jumbo Operator to join and grow their team.
You will be expected to align to the Barrick DNA and to operate within our mining assets with our best people teams. You will contribute on a practical note to ensure activities in the Engineering and Services department are effectively planned and undertaken in a safe and cost effective manner to achieve targets in accordance to BGML Mining Safety Standards, Policies and Procedures and ensure daily targets are met.

About Bulyanhulu Team
Bulyanhulu is situated in northwest Tanzania, in the Kahama district of the Shinyanga region, approximately 55 kilometers south of Lake Victoria and 150 kilometers southwest of the city of Mwanza. Bulyanhulu is a narrow-vein gold mine containing gold, silver, and copper mineralization in sulphides. The mineralization of Bulyanhulu is associated with a number of steeply-dipping veins. Bulyanhulu commenced commercial production in 2001.

Responsibilities
- Ensure that work is carried out in compliance to specifications, plans, schedules and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure Equipment Pre-Start Inspections conducted prior to operating any equipment on a shiftily basis and sub-standard equipment reported & corrected.
- Workplace inspections conducted shiftily as assigned and substandard conditions reported and / or corrected in a timely manner.
- Maintain communication with Supervisor throughout the shift by reporting in intervals as per plan.
- Conduct Daily Inspections of allocated Refuge bays in compliance to Emergency & first aid equipment procedures upon entering.
- Ensure Tools & Equipment are inspected & maintained before and after use on a daily basis; correct tools used for the task at hand; no reports of using incorrect tools or equipment for the job.
- Safe & efficient Equipment operation within Standard Operating Procedure requirements.
- Ensure daily planned targets are achieved.
- Promote and implement the mine’s production and development strategy, policies and standards.
- Take full responsibility for safety, production and quality of the mining operation (efficient excavation of underground tunnel and as per targets).
- Ensure machine and equipment utilization as per standard.
- Report breakdowns, equipment damage, safety near misses, incidents, and accidents according to the laid out procedures, including completing a shift report at the end of each shift.
- Conduct comprehensive pre-start checks to mining equipment prior to using it and ensure full ownership and care to the end of the shift for long life of equipment.
- Track and follow up any daily variance or deviations from the schedule

- Certificate of Secondary School Education – Ordinary Level
- Certificate of Competency in Double Boom Rig Operations
- Drill Rig Operator License
- Full training on manual scaling/ mechanized scaling
- Strata Control Certificate of Competency
- Long hole drilling Competency
- Valid Blasting Certificate for Metalliferous Mines in Tanzania
Experience and competencies needed
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Underground Mining Operations/ Industry
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in operating underground Mining Equipment
- Shaft Operation experience will be an added advantage
- 3 years’ experience in sinking spiral ramps
- Experience in Basic Mining, Ground Control & Development Blasting Operations
