Tembo Nickel Corporation (“Tembo”) is an operating company formed via the Framework Agreement (19 January 2021) between Kabanga Nickel Limited and the Government of Tanzania for development of the Kabanga nickel deposits in the Ngara District in the Northwest of Tanzania. Under the Framework Agreement terms, Tembo (owned 84% by Kabanga Nickel Limited and 16% by the Government of Tanzania) has been formally established for the mining, processing and refining of Class 1 nickel with cobalt and copper co-products. Tembo is the Swahili word for elephant and represents strength, community and longevity. Tembo Nickel aims to become a sustainable, inclusive and responsible company supplying critical battery minerals to the world.

Human Resources & Admin Specialist
Position Summary:
Tembo Nickel is seeking to recruit HR and Admin Specialist to join Tembo Nickel Project Team. This role is reporting to the Camp and Facilities Lead.
The successful candidate is expected to lead Coordination and effective implementation of Human resources programs on site
Duty Station : Tembo Nickel project site-Ngara
Working roster : 6 weeks on and 3 weeks off
Responsibilities
- To provide support to Tembo Nickel staff and contractors in interpretation of HR policies and procedures and provide technical support on HR issues.
- Work closely with Head of HR and departmental Managers in execution of Human Resources strategy
- Provide advice and support to the team in interpretation of HR policies and procedures and provide technical support on HR and Admin related matters, including but not limited to, recruitment, orientation, career development, performance evaluation, disciplinary action, and separation
- Participate in recruitment process of vacancies. CV review, interviewing, reference check, job offer, leading the orientation and travel arrangement.
- Take an active role in reviewing job descriptions, posting job advertisements, screening applicants, conducting job interviews/written tests, reference checks, extending job offers, and ensuring new employee’s paperwork/hire pack is processed accurately.
- Ensure that recruitment process is fair and transparent and in line with Tembo Nickel HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper orientation for all new staff with periodic follow up fields visits for additional support to field teams; collaborate and coordinate with other departments to provide an engaging and welcoming orientation
- Maintain good working relationships with other external stakeholders (immigration, Labor, NSSF, WCF) and provide feedback to management on HR issues.
- Advise and conduct employees on exit management process for exiting employees and maintain its copies on the file.
- Review new employees contract agreement and ensure the new employees’data is update
- Responsible for preparing monthly payroll and maintaining payroll related documents.
- Ensure that all personnel documents of the site staff are updated and maintained in the personnel files including ex-staff file.
- Coordinates the performance management cycle and with the support of the Head of HR, ensures that mid-year and annual reviews are carried out.
- Supports supervisors to identify training needs or performance gaps of staff.
- Establish, manage, and maintain personnel files in an accurate and consistent manner.
- Maintains and regularly updates attendance records and Time Sheet of staff.
- Submits employee data reports by assembling, preparing, and analysing data and information.
- Maintains employee information by entering and updating employment and status-change data.
- Reviews all applications to vacancies; prepares candidate shortlists; participates in recruitment
- Keeps records and maintains all relevant correspondence, incoming and outgoing letters.

Qualifications and competencies
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, Human Resources or Administration
- At least Five years’ experience in the HR field with reputable organization
- Previous working experience in projects or remote areas will be an added advantage
- Experience with industrial relations and working with Union and workers forum
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and power Point.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- possesses strong cross-cultural communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to work in a team and as individual.
- Good management, administrative and communication skills.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS LEAD- COMMUNITY INVESTMENT AND HUMAN RIGHTS
Position Summary:
Tembo Nickel is seeking to recruit Community Relations Lead for Community Investments and Human Rights to join Tembo Nickel Project Team. She/he will have full responsibility for the assigned activities and be one of the primary interfaces with the identified local and regional stakeholders as well as key government agencies for delivery of public services. S/he will maintain regular communications with local government officials and other strategic partners at Village, Ward, District, Regional and National level.
S/he will work with the CR team and RAP consultants. The purpose of the position is to provide leadership, design, and operationalization of the Community Strategy, plans and deliver on Tembo Nickel life of mine plan.
This is a Fixed Term contract of 1 Year and the successful candidate will report to the Social Performance Manager

- Manage the daily operations of the community investment plans and mitigation activities providing guidance, leadership, and support.
- Develop and implement strategic partnerships for community investment activities such as social investment accountability, gender mainstreaming, land use planning.
- Identify, initiate, and facilitate base line studies and assessments
- Monitor and evaluate the delivery community development activities
- Facilitate planning and coordination of Community Engagement and RAP activities and enable synergies.
- Document progress, accomplishments and lessons learned.
- Develop a social accountability mechanism based on community participation
- Develop and review community development reports
- Manage budgets effectively and approve expenses for community investments.
- Provide mentorship and support to staff around professional development, workload management, and staff wellness
- Cultivate an environment of learning and teamwork through regular team meetings and on-going training
- Conduct mid-year and annual performance management evaluation

Position Summary:
Tembo Nickel is seeking to recruit Community Relations Lead for RAP Social Safeguards to join Tembo Nickel Project Team. We are looking for a driven and proactive implementer that can successfully monitor and operationalize the execution of the RAP. Reporting to the Social Performance Manager, you will have responsibility for various aspects of the resettlement, including developing and strengthening stakeholder relations, community development post-resettlement, gender mainstreaming and human rights.
She/he will have full responsibility for the assigned activities and be one of the primary interfaces with the identified local stakeholders. S/he will maintain regular communications with local government officials and other strategic partners at Village, Ward, Districts and Regional level.
She/he will work with the TN CR, engagement and community development, team and be guided by the RAP consultants’ planning, activities, and recommendations. The purpose of the position is to ensure Tembo Nickel are active in the process, coordinate and assist in early identification and planning of livelihood improvement needs, social support requirements, address environmental resettlement concerns and develop necessary programs that ease the resettlement transition for the project affected individuals.

- In charge of coordination between TN and RAP consultant and ensuring that Tembo Nickel provide the necessary assistance to the RAP process and the consultant team.
- Ensure that potential environmental and socio-economic resettlement impacts are addressed, and appropriate mitigation activities are developed in cooperation with the RAP consultant.
- Facilitate RAP engagement forums such as the District Consultative Committee and the Resettlement Working Group.
- Facilitate the planning and coordination of the RAP plan and engagements.
- Act as liaison with external stakeholders within the region on all resettlement issues
- Monitor the delivery of core resettlement services to ensure that Human Rights Impacts are mitigated, and that TN are compliant with all national and international standards
- Ensure that all electronic resettlement files and databases are maintained in accordance with contract requirements and ail records required by Tembo Nickel are submitted on time.
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation activities to assess resettlement activities with CR M&E officer in collaboration with RAP consultant.
- Manage budgets and approve expenses for resettlement related costs, ensuring costs are maintained within allocated budgets
- Provide mentorship and support to staff around professional development, workload management, trauma-informed approach, and staff wellness
- Cultivate an environment of teamwork through regular Team meetings and on-going training
- Conduct mid-year and annual performance management evaluation.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Master’s degree in Social, Economic, Environmental, International Development, Rural Planning, Public Administration and Policy or other relevant field or experience
- 10-15 years of work experience
- Solid understanding of environmental and social risks and safeguards, International Standards and Human Rights
- Ability to establish collaborative partnerships with national and international NGOs, institutions, and Local Government authorities to implement durable solutions for the project affected persons.
- Ability to engage and enable active participation of regional administration, district local government authority and local communities
- Ability to develop plans, budgets, and reports
- Experienced in M&E and learning
