Reports to the Civil & Rail Engineering Manager
Core Job Description: General Masonry and Brick laying works for new constructions including repair and maintenance of existing buildings.
Key Accountabilities
- Providing Masonry and Brick laying services in terms of physical execution of the assigned tasks.
- Ensuring the cement mixes used in the work do not reach their setting time before placed to their final places and make sure the work done is neat and tidy.
- Ensuring a proper curing is done to finished cement works.
- Ensuring that he/she has all the relevant material and tools, or equipment needed for a work to be done before the work is started. There should be a close collaboration with a Foreman or Supervisor assigning the task.
- Keeping and take care of all the working tools or equipment assigned to him/her. Make sure they are safely kept, cleaned immediately after use and should be in good working order all the time.
- ensuring that all material given to him/her are well kept and used economically only for the intended works. All the remaining material from work sites or workshop should be returned to building storekeeper for other uses.
- Ensuring that he/she reports in time to his working place, works diligently, cleans the site before leaving and observes the working hours.

- Ensuring that he/she wears the proper personal protectives for his/her own safety and should observe the safety of others on the workplace.
- Advising superiors in all Masonry and Brick laying works including reporting of the works that are above his/her level for further technical support.
- Performed any other related duties as may be assigned by respective supervisors.
