Typical qualifications for a Junior Specialist
  • Bachelor’s in business administration or bachelor’s in public administration/policy from a top university; master’s or PhD a plus
  • 4-5 years of deep technical experience in a development- or business-related sector
  • Strong analytical abilities, both quantitative and qualitative
  • Ability to present information in an insightful and structured manner, both written and oral
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and coach/ manage junior team members where required

Candidates selected for interviews will be invited for a number of interviews to test their consulting skills through case questions, and to discuss their interests and experience. As the interviews progress to the second and final rounds, candidates may be asked to interview in-person at a Dalberg office.

Note:
This role is set-up as a 2-year role, with possibility for extensions. Once the recruited candidates have mastered the consulting toolkit, they will be promoted to a Project Manager level.

The recruited candidates will develop their consulting toolkit by being staffed as junior team members on their projects with increasing levels of difficulty. They will also receive Technical Coaching to hone their consulting skillset.
Employment in the Dalberg Dar es Salaam office is conditional on the candidate having or obtaining the requisite authorization to work and live in Tanzania.
