The
Temeke Municipality in Dar es Salaam has said science teachers who will
volunteer to teach students from January to July, 2020 will be given
priority during the recruitment process.
The
municipality's director, Lusubilo Mwakabia, made the statement on
Monday, January 27, 2020, announcing a new employment opportunities for
155 science teachers to address the shortage of teachers in the
municipality.

The
Mwakabibi said in July, 2020, they will hire new science industry
teachers whose salaries will come from the municipal collections.
He
said the most needed are teachers of chemistry, physics, mathematics,
biology, that 400 teachers are required but currently starting with 155.

to the Mwakabibi, in the fourth form results in 2019 the Temeke
municipality has struggled to do well in Sciences subjects, but what
they found was a shortage of science teachers, not infrastructure.
