Job Description –Information Management Officer
Danish
Refugee Council (DRC) is an international non-governmental organization
which provides assistance and promotes durable solutions for refugees
and internally displaced people, on the basis of humanitarian principles
and human rights.
Danish Refugee Council is a humanitarian
actor in Tanzania. Since 2015, as part of the Burundian Refugee Response
in Tanzania, DRC works in the sectors of camp management, community
based protection, livelihoods, protections, WASH, General Food
Distributions and shelter/ small infrastructure in Nduta & Mtendeli
camps. And starting from January, 2020, DRC will be implementing Camp
management, Community based protection and Livelihoods projects in
Nyaragusu refugee camp.

Name of the Position: - Information Management Officer
Reports to: - Camp Management Team Leaders
Supervise: - Incentive Workers
Duty Station: - Nduta, Mtendeli & Nyaragusu Refugee Camps
An
Information Management Officer under the management and supervision of
Team Leaders in close collaboration with the M&E Officer will lead
the data collection and database management for data and information
gathered from DRC’s CCCM program in Mtendeli, Nduta and Nyaragusu
refugee camps.
Tasks and responsibilities of the position
- Ensure daily, weekly and monthly data collection regarding the activities implemented:
- Needs assessments for new or follow-on programming
- Distribution reports
- Baseline assessments
- Regular program monitoring
- Mid-term evaluations
- Final evaluations
- Household surveys (sample and comprehensive
- Focus group discussions
- Case studies
- Key informant interviews
- Enter data provided into the appropriate software
- In collaboration with the M&E Officer help creating new templates for data collection or improving existing ones when needed.
- Provide technical support in database design to the team
- Provide data for DRC’s monthly reports and various donor reports.
- Analyze data for trends and share them with DRC program managers, DRC M&E supervisor and DRC Grants and Reporting Officer.
- Make recommendations based on research findings, in collaboration with program staff.
- Help assessing whether programs are reaching their targets and inform appropriate program staff when targets are not being met
- Any other duties as requested by Manager
- Any other duties to support camp management activities assigned by Manager

Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in computer Science or relevant field;
- 2-3-year relevant work experience;
- Previous experience working with DRC Tanzania preferably in camp management.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility;
- Flexibility in working hours when needed;
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel);
- Comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well ability to engage with community members in an open manner, maintain confidentiality and respect;
- Ability to communicate and write reports in English;
- Language ability in Kiha, Kirundi and French considered and advantage.
