Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in procurement or similar
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Commerce, accounting, law, business or finance with relevant training in procurement
  • Registered by a recognized institution as a procurement professional

Experience

  • At least 10 years of direct work experience in procurement with public, projects/programs
  • At least 2 years working experience as a procurement specialist, with substantial supervisory responsibilities in procurement matters, in internationally funded/supported project(s), thereby having applied procurement procedures of the Government of Tanzania, the World Bank, and/or of other development agencies
  • Excellent computer skills, conversant with Microsoft Office packages: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS project etc.
  • Experience in training and capacity building in procurement
  • Experience in procurement of DBO contract will be an added advantage

  • Strong analytical capabilities and good skills to deal with Procurement Management issues innovatively and independently
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a multi-disciplinary team to provide advice and recommend actions
  • Proficiency in preparing and presenting reports
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent computer and conversant with Microsoft Office packages
  • Excellent report writing skills
Language: Fluency in both spoken and written Swahili and English
Duty station: Dodoma / Dar es Salaam
Duration: 12 months (over a period of 36 months) on part time basis
