ICAP at Columbia University, a global health leader situated
within the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health in New
York City, seeks highly qualified candidates to serve as Health
Management Information Systems (HMIS) Specialist – Tanzania. The
incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing a
strategic vision for electronic systems used to collect, manage,
analyze, report, visualize, and disseminate data collected for ICAP’s
proposed project in Tanzania. The HMIS Specialist will oversee and
participate in the creation, maintenance, and advancement of project
applications and health information systems (HIS); oversee the
activities of the informatics teams; and work with end users to deliver
technical solutions that meet their requirements.

ICAP seeks highly qualified and experienced candidates to fill
the HMIS Specialist position by December 15, 2019. The successful
candidate will hold an advanced degree in Computer Science, Health
Informatics, Data Analytics and Visualization, Public Health or related
discipline. S/he will have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in
design and implementation of health information systems in
resource-limited settings.
Recommended:
The incumbent will have a demonstrated track record working with SQL,
HTML, Java Framework and tools, Microsoft Office Applications, PHP, and
database-driven website development. The HMIS Specialist will also have
experience with HIS development, including developing tools that
incorporate analytic visualization methodologies (e.g., trend charts and
maps); experience working with large, health-related datasets; and
experience presenting data in a variety of tabular and visual formats.
