The Western Indian Ocean Marine Science Association (WIOMSA) in partnership with the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Institute (KMFRI) and the Nairobi Convention through the GEF-funded project ‘Implementation of the Strategic Action Programme for the protection of the WIO from land-based sources and activities (WIOSAP)’ are organizing a regional training workshop on use of constructed wetlands technology for wastewater treatment that is scheduled to take place in Mombasa Kenya from 18th to 22nd November 2019.

The workshop is organized with the financial support of the Government of Sweden through WIOMSA’s Cities and Coasts Programme and the GEF through the WIOSAP Project. The training aims at giving participants the knowledge and skills to perform basic wetland designs and critically assess existing wetlands or wetland proposals.
The deadline for submission of applications is 18th October 2019.
