JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTANT

REPORTS: Reports directly to the Finance Manager.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The accountant will be responsible for providing accounting support to the Company, working closely with the Finance Manager to ensure the Company maintain and report accurate financial.

KEY DUTIES

Preparation of all management and statutory accounts on time.

Preparation and filling of taxes, and other statutory returns of the company.

Support adherence of all financial regulations and procedures.

Assist in preparation and posting of Budgets and forecasts.

Maintain the Company assets register.

Ensure efficiency and accuracy in postings into the ERP system (Sage 300) and coordinate

all ERP implementations and reports accuracy.

Assist in preparation and maintenance of payroll.

Participate in the company’s internal and external audits.

Reconcile financial discrepancies as they arise, after checking out the causes for the same

Prepare payments by requesting disbursements and verifying documentation.

Audit key documents and verify each transaction

Secure sensitive financial information by completing database backups

Supervising the junior staff in finance department (Cashier, Credit control, Revenue

accountant & Operation officer)

Monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements

Preparing weekly and monthly bank reconciliation.

Perform monthly expense variance analysis

Ensure that all transactions are compliant with Company’s policies and IFRS.

Relevant Qualification/Experience

At least two years working experience.

Good knowledge of computerized accounting packages (Sage 300) and Microsoft office;

CPA and Management Accounting related degree (Bachelor Degree in

Commerce/Accounting/Finance).

Fluency in Kiswahili and English

Excellent time management and analytical skills.

Adopt problem solver and decision maker (Proactive to problem Solution)

Conversant with International Financial reporting standards (IFRS), International Accounting

standards (IAS)
