motivated and qualified person to fill the position of:
RESTORING FAMILY LINK FIELD-OFFICER (KIBONDO)

The
International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial,
neutral and independent organisation with the exclusively humanitarian
mission to protect the lives and dignity of victims of war and internal
violence and to provide them with assistance. It also endeavours to
prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening International
Humanitarian Law and universal humanitarian principles. The ICRC's
Mission in Dar es salaam coordinates the institution's humanitarian
activities in Tanzania..

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
The
ICRC and National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies work together on
providing Restoring Family Links services to civilian population in the
refugee camps. The RFL Field-officer is part of the ICRC team
supporting the Tanzania Red Cross Society in their RFL work and in RFL
services for detainees in the Kigoma Region

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Supports the implementation of the RFL activities carried out by the
Tanzanian Red Cross Society (TRCS) in the refugee camps in Kigoma
region;
• Participates in detention visits, and provision of Restoring Family Links services (RFL) to detainees in the same region;
• Supports TRCS staff in charge of RFL activities on a daily basis; Training of TRCS RFL staff on how to use tracing tools;
• Prepares and organizes the transfer of children in eventual cross-border family reunifications;
• Filing and collection of RFL statistics; Translate from Kirundi/Swahili to English and vice versa;
• Collects relevant information in the area of intervention on RFL, general situation and security:
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of a network of relevant interlocutors;
• Participate in inter-agency, camp coordination and protection meetings; Provide input to the RFL strategy for Tanzania;
Minimum required knowledge & experience
• Bachelor Degree in a relevant field (Law, Human Rights, Sociology, Social Work, Education);
• 2 years' experience in a similar function preferably within an international organization;
• Technical capacities on tracing activities and coordination with other organizations;
• Training and capacity building skills;
• Excellent oral and written English, knowledge of French, Swahili and Kirundi (or at least Kiha) an added value.
• Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet).
