REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: This position reports to Underground Maintenance Superintendent
CONTEXT AND PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The
purpose of the role is to conduct planning work for Process Plant team,
accountable for the delivery of the planned performance of the
department with zero injuries at the lowest practical unit cost. To
specify the requirements for safely, correctly and efficiently
completing approved work..
ACCOUNTABILITIES & AUTHORITIES OF THE ROLE
•
Assessing safety in an underground by performing safety inspections,
monitoring work procedures for compliance with Shanta Gold safe working
standards & regulations;
•
Oversee the safety of employees, equipment's and materials involved
during project implementation. Provide supervision and a safe working
environment to on-site maintenance personnel;Source: AjiraLeo Tanzania
• Providing direct supervision of the maintenance operations of the continuous mining equipment;
• Proactively observe equipment performance, document and fix potential problems.
• Respond to emergencies that could cause injury or loss to production;
•
Conduct predictive and preventative maintenance on all equipment's,
develop and monitor targets for reduction in equipment damage;
•
Ensure delivery of a cost effective and timely maintenance process to
the mining department, by providing support in monitoring and reviewing
costs, establishing and maintaining agreed budgets
Qualification:
•
FTC or Trade Test qualified grade I, Vocational Training/
Apprenticeship In a related field/ college program in heavy equipment -
Mechanical or Fitting Trade Certificate
• Have a valid driver's 'license
Experience:
• Have extensive experience in a similar role in the Underground Mining Industry
• Minimum 7 years' continuous foreman experience
• Extensive knowledge of underground mobile mining equipment and underground fixed plant
• Previous experience reliability engineering and maintenance planning.
