The International Youth Foundation (IYF) is seeking nine (9) young
people from across Tanzania to join our Youth Lead Project as IYF
Tanzania Kiongozi Fellows!
IYF Tanzania Kiongozi Fellows will work together to research, write
about, and present good ideas and recommendations for livelihoods
programs and strategies to engage young people in Tanzania. Youwill be
supported in your work through training and mentoring from IYF, and
those who complete the fellowship activities will also receive a
certificate, letter of reference, and honorarium.
The IYF Tanzania Kiongozi Fellowship is from June to October 2019.
During that period, Fellows will come together several times for
in-person trainings and workshops and will also complete activities and
assignments in their communities in between meetings.
IYF is looking for diverse young people from all backgrounds and all
parts of Tanzania (Mainland and Zanzibar) to join our team as Kiongozi
Fellows.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Fellows must be between 19 and 28 years old,
- able to read and write both English and Kiswahili proficiently,
- comfortable using computers and technology, and
- available to travel 3-4 times between June and October to participate actively in workshops and trainings.

The ideal Fellow will also:
- Have experience working, volunteering, or participating in livelihoods programs, personal
- businesses, youth-focused programs, and/or community engagement work
- Have experience with one (or more) of the following: research, data collection, data analysis,
- surveying, interviewing, writing reports, presenting or facilitating
- Be a proactive self-starter with good time management and an ability to work both
- independently and as part of a team
- Have strong oral and written communication skills
- Be interested in youth-focused programming and/or strategies for engaging young people
- Be interested in developing research, writing, and presentation skills
- Be committed to fully participating in the activities and assignments of the Fellowship, both during and in between group meetings and workshops
