POSITION: ACCOUNTANT

Samaritan Village (Tanzania) is a Christian based society registered in Tanzania under the societies Ordinance (Rule 5) of 1954 established in 1994 with the major role of assisting/helping orphans to obtain a better life by providing them with care and support. The registered office of the society situated at Moshono Nelson Mandela Road, Arusha Tanzania.
Summary
Samaritan Village Tanzania seeks to hire a qualified candidate for the position of an accountant with the following attributes:
• Minimum Qualification: Bachelor degree in Accountancy
• Work experience Length: 2 years
• Competency: Should be able to use QuickBooks Accounting package
• Age limit 22-40years
Key duties:
• Participate in scrutinization of the plan and budget of the Samaritan Village Tanzania
• To prepare Bank Reconciliation and follow up the balance of Bank Accounts
• To prepare payment voucher
• To prepare Journals
• To reconcile suppliers invoice before payment
• To prepare monthly staff payroll and enquire for approval
• Submit the statutory payroll deduction to the PSSPF and TRA
• Maintain the updated books of accounts as per financial guidelines
• Any other relevant duties assigned by supervisor
Minimum requirements:
• First Degree or Advanced Diploma in Accountancy from recognized Institution or higher education
• At least two years working experiences ‘as an Accountant or Finance Officer
• Good communication skills (Fluent in English and Kiswahili both oral and Written) and a keen attention to details.
• Computer literacy – Ms Word, Ms Excel, Ms Access & Internet and Computerized Accounting System i.e. QuickBooks (is a must)
• Registration with NBAA will be an added advantage
