Position: Grants & Contract Coordinator WWF (The World Wide Fund for Nature) is an international non-governmental organization that deals with conservation of nature through a number of environmental management programmes. Our mission is to stop the degradation of the Planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which human live in harmony with nature. Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, the Grants & Contract Coordinator will manage all grants at Tanzania Country Office. He/she is also required to support the Finance Manager to improve donor relations, identify funding opportunities and compile the donor database, reformat and submit project proposals, and ensures timely financial and technical reporting to donors and WWF Network. He/she will also liaise with the Regional Office for Africa in Nairobi to ensure effective coordination of funding submissions and donor communication with other WWF project Offices.
Compliance
Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, the Coordinator will be responsible for supervising sub grantee auditing/ reviews and implementation of the audit/review findings and follow ups. He will also be responsible to make sure that the sub grantees are complying with all WWF expenditure guidelines and reporting requirements.
Major duties and responsibilities:
- Ensure that all WWF requirements for signing of agreements (both donor and sub-grantee) are adhered to before the contract is signed; this involves ensuring that all appropriate authorizations are sought and approved,
- Ensure that agreements (both donor and sub-grantee) are timeously prepared and signed.
- Ensure the contracts or agreements entered to with donors or person who grant the said fund to be submitted to the treasury and the Registrar of NGOs no later than ten days from the date of entering the said contract or agreement for approval.
- Timely reporting and communication on donor contracts and internal monthly reporting of all WWF TCO programmes and projects;
- Building an institutional real-time knowledge of donors and various funding opportunities relevant to the needs of the country office;
- Assist in developing funding strategies for the various thematic and strategic areas requiring funding within the country office;
- Advise and when necessary support project managers on donor guidelines, policies and procedures and contractual obligations, particularly on reporting, procurement, matching funds, spending rate and visibility requirements to ensure compliance;
- Prepare local grant guidelines for the activities with partners
- Provide needed training to local partners, to ensure that their activities are in accordance with regulations and requirements.
- Ensure that C2G is timeously updated for both incoming and outgoing contracts.
- Assist the Finance Manager in building donor relations by maintaining timely communication with donors in conjunction with Project Managers and appropriate Country Managers.
- Responsible for assisting the Finance Manager on all Sub grantee compulsory auditing.
- In collaboration with the Finance Manager, the coordinator will be responsible for following up implementation of all audit related matter arising from sub grantee audits
- In collaboration with the Finance Manager, the coordinator will be responsible to make sure the sub grantees are in compliance with all WWF expenditure guidelines and reporting requirements.

Required Qualifications and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field; Master’s degree in Project Management, MBA or equivalent, CPAT will be an added advantage;
- Minimum of 5 years’professional experience in Project Management and Grants Management ideally with experience working with government and donors; Previous work experience with international organizations involved in environmental and/or community issues;
- Proven ability in preparation and submission of proposals, and in implementation of conservation programmes;
- Excellent written and oral communications skills, fluency in English and Kiswahili languages; Good computer knowledge; strong planning and organizational skills;
- Proven interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships at all levels within WWF and with donors and, as required, with other external stakeholders;
- Ability to work within a multicultural environment; Dynamic, responsive disposition; Open, adaptable, team spirit; ability to work under pressure;
