Job Title: Local Rights Program Coordinator (LRP Coordinator)

ActionAid Tanzania (AATZ) envisions seeing Tanzania without poverty and injustice in which every person enjoys his/her right to a life of dignity. Currently, the organization is looking for a qualified, experienced and self-motivated person to fill in the following vacant post: 

Job Role:
Key objectives of this position are co-ordinating the planning and implementation of the Local Rights Program (LRP) strategy and annual plans in line with Country Strategy Paper (CSP), undertake local level advocacy to influence changes in systems and practices that impact on the lives of people living in poverty and perform sponsorship and other administrative tasks of the Local Rights Program. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the development of LRP strategy that is informed by the CSP
  • Develop monitoring and evaluation framework and tools for LRP strategy and annual plans
  • Facilitate implementation of CSP, the LRP strategy, annual plans and projects in line with Human Resource Based Approach programming principles
  • Facilitate and take active part in external and peer evaluation processes of programs and specific projects
  • Organize Participatory Review and Reflection Processes (PRRPs) bi-annually involving communities, local partners and stakeholders and compile, document and share reports timely to the head office
  • Ensure the organization’s Partnership Policy is effectively implemented in the LRP
  • Initiate Community Based Organizations and assess and develop their capacity
  • Ensure sponsorship activities (collection of new profiles, messages, photo updates etc) are performed timely maintaining the required quality
  • Generate fundraising ideas, develop funding plan, concept notes and proposals to raise fund from institutional sources
  • Prepare and submit annul budget plans and cash flows as per the requirement to finance department and the line manager timely
  • Represent the organization in local level engagements as appropriate
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual program and financial utilization reports to the head office and line manager as per standards timely
  • Ensure regular LRP staff performance monitoring is undertaken and feedbacks are provided
  • Ensure training needs are identified to all staff and responded in as much as capacity allows in consultation with Human Resource Organizational Development department

Essential Experience
A minimum of 3 years work experience in the development field of which at least 2 years in leadership position

Education & Training Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Development studies and any relevant Social Sciences disciplines from a recognized institution Excellent programming and management skills
  • Training in;
  • Project planning and management
  • Human Rights Based Approach
  • Monitoring and evaluation
