Roles and Responsibilities
We are representing an international forestry company with a large, well established operation in East Africa, the company manages both natural woodland as well as plantation forests. The company is a fully integrated forestry business with a sawmill, drying kilns and value adding line. The company has engaged us to find an experienced Chief Executive Officer to oversee the management of this operation, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a company that is an already established operation and is considered one of the leading companies in its field. The company puts emphasis on sustainable (environmental and social) and safe operations and this will be one of the KPI areas for the CEO

- Plan, develop, implement and manage the company’s operations.
- The successful candidate will have overall Profit & Loss responsibilities.
- Commercial management including; identifying new potential clients, contract negotiating and managing existing clients.
- Plantation and processing management.
- Logistics management, from plantation to client.
- Lead a large senior management team.
- Engage with local and national politicians as well as communities.
- Ensure that the company’s certification systems are upheld and that operations are in line with FSC Principles and Criteria.
- Provide the board of directors and shareholders with monthly and annual reports.

Educational Qualifications
Tertiary degree in fields such as; forestry, agriculture or engineering.
Experience Requirements
Tanzanian national
Have a proven and impressive performance record in previous similar position or has managed business divisions and candidate is ready for the next step in his/her career
10 years commercial experience in forestry/agriculture preferably in (East) Africa.
Commercially orientated and preferably some experience exporting commodities
Willingness to work and live in a remote location.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
