Jobs in Tanzania: Program Rotation Manager Job Vacancy at One Acre
Fund January, 2019
AJIRA TANZANIA 2019 / NAFASI ZA KAZI 2019
Position: Program Rotation Manager
Job Description
Job Description
One Acre Fund’s work is evolving rapidly and we are in need of
Program Rotation Managers who can take on critical leadership roles,
collaborating with other executive leaders, to work on some of the most
impactful and highest priority challenges facing the organization. This
program provides highly qualified candidates a chance to contribute to
the organization from a variety of leadership positions, building the
breadth and scope of their professional experience. Program Rotation
Managers will have the opportunity to plug into multiple high-priority
projects followed by an extended posting.
The hallmark of this position is flexibility. A typical track
would involved plugging into multiple high-priority projects followed by
an extended posting:
- First 18 months: Rotation between 2 different 9-month long posts
- Next 18 months: Fill a single role of importance to the organization and interest to the candidate
- Afterward: Permanently join a team of particular interest to the candidate
However, we tailor this track according to a Manager’s long-term goals and organizational need. For instance, rotations can be extended or truncated, or Managers can postpone a permanent posting to engage more rotations. Managers will collaborate with One Acre Fund leadership to define their individual career track.
Program Rotation Managers will also collaborate with One Acre Fund’s
program directors and General Partners to identify the most critical
projects and countries of operation, creating the scope of their
specific rotations and eventual long term postings. Examples of possible
rotations include:
- Interim Country Director: We focus a lot of time and effort on hiring for our leadership roles, which means that periodically we need to fill a country director’s shoes on a short-term basis. A Senior Leadership Fellow would provide key interim leadership to keep the country on track, grow and develop the team and eventually train and handover to the new permanent country director.
- Program Expansion on our Program Innovations Team: One Acre Fund is constantly growing, which means our portfolio of countries is expanding. A Senior Fellow would lead an expansion country and chart their healthy path to sustainability, advising the General Partners on critical decisions around growth, scale and impact.
- New Department Standup: Senior Fellows can be tasked with developing new capacities for One Acre Fund, like standing up a new Global Field Operations team or organizing a global approach to increasing repayment. Working across countries, business units and teams will be critical for this task.
NEW TANZANIAN JOBS OPPORUNITIES (570+ POSTS)
We see the Program Rotation Manager position as an opportunity to cultivate the next generation of senior executives in the social enterprise space. They will confront complex challenges of scale, impact and efficiency while receiving intensive professional development from the General Partners to strengthen their enterprise leadership skills.
