Job Title: Planning Officer - Good Samaritans Foundation of Tanzania(GSF)
The Good Samaritan Foundation of Tanzania (GSF) was established in 1962 under rule no.5 of the Tanganyika’s Societies Ordinance of 1954, as a Trustee of Lutheran Church to engage in supporting provision of quality health services in the Northern Zone of Tanzania. GSF perform this mission on three main pillars which are healing, training, and research. At the moment GSF owns several institutions devoted to performing various functions related to the provision of quality health care.

Some of these institutions include Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC), Kilimanjaro Medical University College (KCMUCo), Kilimanjaro Clinical Research Institute (KCRI), International School of Moshi (ISM) and Kilimanjaro Schoo of Pharmacy (KSP). GSF’s planning and development activities including the implementation of the KCMC’s Strategic Plan are coordinated by the Planning Unit.
GSF would like to recruit a qualified candidate to fill the following position for its planning unit: 
Position: Planning Officer
Number of Position: 1
Location: Moshi
Duration: 24 months (renewable based on satisfactory performance)
Reporting to: GSF Executive Secretary 

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinating implementation of KCMC’s 5 year Rolling Strategic Plan as well as training Heads of Department/Units to achieve the desired goals.
  • Preparing plans or projects documents for submission for funding.
  • Preparing and submitting quarterly, semiannual, and annual progress reports to key stakeholders.
  • Collecting information and data on the goals and objectives of the institution and how they can be modified and improved.
  • Analyzing and evaluating data as a basis of formulation of plans.
  • Preparing annual action plans.
  • Coordinating and implementing institutional development plans
  • Preparing profiles to bring together available statistics on the activities and resources of each Directorate/Department/Unit
  • Conducting project appraisals to determine viability of projects
  • Participating in Finance and Planning committee meetings.
  • Participating in GSF Steering committee meetings.
  • Preparing GSF Budget as well as coordinating GSF Budgeting committee meetings.
  • Coordinating GSF Fundraising committee meetings.
  • Advising GSF institutions on matters relating to planning and development
  • Conducting on-job training to subordinates.
  • Following up implementation of development projects within the institution and providing reports to the management.
  • Performing any other duties as may be assigned by his/her superior

Qualifications
Applicants should possess a Bachelor Degree in Economics (with bias in Planning), Development Planning, Regional Planning, Population planning or its equivalents from any recognized institution with at least two years of working experience in the related field
