In support of the organization’s youth initiative to develop a pool of young talent and future leaders, MS TCDC is dedicated in equipping young graduates with skills and attitudes needed in today’s complex business world by giving them an exposure to a diverse work environment. Essentially, MS TCDC's Human Resources Department is the overall responsible for the technical aspects of human resources & legal function of the organization including its budget, management of employees, and is responsible for staffing, compensation, benefits, training & development and other functions that help shape the organization culture. The Department is also responsible for making sure employees are working in a safe and comfortable environment while recruiting new, likeminded employees to help achieve organizational goals.
He/she is expected to:
a. Assist in coordinating recruitment processes (handling advertisements, receiving and processing applications, organize interviews, inform applicants of outcome, assist interview panel checking referees and orientation of new staff).
b. Assist in processing staff work permits and participants’ permits and visas.
c. Compile & maintain records of staff leave days (annual, compassionate, sick etc).
d. Assist in coordinating, monitoring and ensuring staff talks are conducted annually with staff; and also ensure follow up on feedback.
e. Assist in organizing staff meetings, ensuring communication, information and decision-making
f. Take place from Department level up to Management level.
g. Assist in developing and regular reviews of staff job descriptions in consultation with respective department heads.
h. Assist in coordinating staff training.
i. Assist in coordinating staff welfare issues and ensure all matters related to staff bereavement are attended to.
j. Carry out off-boarding processes and ensure feedback to Head of HR.
Intern Profile:
A candidate must possess a primary qualification in Human Resources Management, Political Science & Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Science, or any other relevant field and have passion for accountability, good governance and development.
Attributes and key skills:
High level of humanitarian skill, ability to work in a multicultural context, passion to engage in social justice activism/advocacy, demonstrate creative & innovative practices.
Terms and conditions:
The internship position will be based at the MS TCDC training centre in Usa River, Arusha. The internship position is offered under MS TCDC’s internship policy with a fixed term contract of four (4) months with the possibility of extension depending on the future programmatic focus and needs of MS TCDC.
